Instead of an Introduction

This year MECO project celebrates its anniversary. Five years for a conference is not a long period. But, it

is difficult to survive even a few years in the period of conference flooding. It is only possible if one does not

make any compromise with the quality. During five years we have had an honor to greet our participants in

Montenegro, a beautiful Mediterranean country. This year, MECO will return back in amazing Bar, where it

started in 2012.

The MECO event is co-sponsored by IEEE, EUROMICRO, MANT, University of Montenegro, Faculty of

Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro, Ryazan State Radio Engineering University,

Eindhoven Technical University, Ministry of Science of Montenegro, Cikom company, Plantaze and several

other organizations and universities.

We have a great honor and pleasure to host you in the beautiful country of Montenegro, historical town Bar,

with its charming Old Town, beautiful natural environment, amazing beaches and the proximity to capital

Podgorica and famous touristic attractions such as Shkoder Lake, Ulcinj, Budva, Boka Kotorska or even

Dubrovnik. We hope that the Bar region will impress you with its rich history and culture, blue waters, sea

breeze and delicious Mediterranean cuisine, creating an inspiring venue for an intensive academic exchange

and discussions.

The agendas of MECO’2016 and ECYPS’2016s are very busy. This year we have a record number of

selected papers (about 115), from about 25 countries, that makes MECO a truly international high impact

conference in the field of embedded computing and wider. A major highlight of MECO’2016 is represented

by 8 keynote presentations by renowned specialists. The MECO program is complemented also with the

dissemination of successful European research and education projects, company presentations and other

knowledge dissemination events.

This year MECO has a great honor to be opened by Professor Dan Shechtman, the 2011 Nobel Prize

Winner in Chemistry. We are very thankful to Dan for his recognition of MECO quality and for finding time

in his very busy schedule to visit Montenegro and to devote attention to our conference. For sure, it will give

the best wings to us.

What makes us also very proud is a fact that MECO proceedings have been indexed in prestigious Databases

as IEEE Xplore, SCOPUS, WoS and others and included in many Regional and University Digital Libraries,

contributing to high citation of our papers.

High quality academic program of 2016 MECO would not be possible without authors, keynote speakers and

more than 200 reviewers, who devoted a lot of enthusiasm and hard work to prepare their papers,

presentations and to rigorously review all submissions. Even their fantastic work would not make sense

without help of our volunteers engaged in organization. Thanks to all of them.

Finally, we wish all participants an excellent conference and a pleasant stay in Bar!
