HISTORY
The Meeting House is a Grade II* Listed former Unitarian Chapel which we understand was built in circa
1788 - 1791 and designed in a Neoclassical style. The Chapel was built by the Unitarians as a Meeting House
to hold 400 people and was converted in 1987 into offices and provides unique office accommodation over
ground and first floors with an adjoining annex.
DESCRIPTION Although the property is a period building, internally the ground floor is predominantly open plan and 4
meeting rooms have been created using good quality glazed partitioning. Two grand staircases lead up to the
first floor, which provides a mezzanine area that encapsulates and extends around the perimeter of the building
on 3 sides, offering additional office accommodation, break out areas and meeting spaces. Services such as
WC’s, shower, kitchenette and server room are also located on the ground floor.
In addition to the main office accommodation, there is also an annex located on the ground floor which has the
potential to become a self-contained unit.
The accommodation is currently fitted out to include, carpeting, perimeter sockets and under floor trunking,
gas fired central heating male and female WC’s, kitchenette and shower.
Examples of some of the historical features include:
• Semi-circular portico of paired Ionic columns
• Central mahogany 3 decker pulpit
• Box pews either side of entrance and the pulpit
• Memorial tablets
• Two stone semi-circular staircases
