If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you

leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

This past week, I had the opportunity to attend the Southern Baptist Convention’s Annual meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. I always enjoy getting to hear what God is doing throughout our convention, and one of the highlights for me this year was being able to see a special screening of a new film entitled “The Insanity of God.” Based on the best –selling book by the same title, the movie tells the true story of the persecution believers in Christ around the world are experiencing as told through

the eyes of IMB missionary and Kentucky native, Nik Ripken. Despite all odds, the faith of these men and women is not only surviving but thriving in some of the darkest places known to man! Unfortunately, the film will only be in theaters for one night on Tuesday, August 30. If you get the chance, I would strongly encourage you to go as it will challenge you to think about the witness you give for Christ! Don’t forget to pray for the kids and chaperones who will be attending Centri-Kids camp at Campbellsville University. They leave this Sunday morning for what should be a great week of worship, Bible study, and lots of fun! In His Service, Bro. Bob

Worship Music for Sunday (June 26) This Sunday Bro. Bob will be continuing his series on the life

of King David with the message at BOTH AM services! Our praise team will lead the worship music

for the Contemporary service at 8:30 a.m. Stacy Bush will be sharing a solo near the beginning of

that service! The Worship Choir will share a favorite: “The Song of the King,” just before Bro. Bob’s

message. Stacy and Lance will play for the 10:50 a.m. service. Sunday evening Bro. Bob will preach another

the message based on one of the Davidic Psalms, for the 6:00 evening service. Lance and Sheryl Milam will

play the instruments for that service!

Busy Summertime Activities Remember to congratulate Anna Grace Ehr and Mollie Fields who are at the

SBTS Seminary in Louisville for the All-State Youth Choir and Orchestra this week (they get back Sunday

night)! Remember to pray for our campers and chaperones engaged in Centri-kid children’s camp this coming

week in Campbellsville! Yours in Christ, Mark

Youth Bible Study concluded last week as the young people learned how God sees us and, ultimately, how that impacts how we should see ourselves. Marsha and I send special appreciation to those workers who taught, served in kitchen, and led small groups, recreation or music.

This week we will resume our study of Biblical characters to derive lessons from their lives that can be applied to ours.

On Sunday night we will begin two new series as boys and girls will meet separately to focus on Godliness. Leslie Fields will help Marsha with the girls while Marty Terry will assist David with the guys.

Please pray for the youth as they consider the challenge of Christian adulthood.

The first Afterglow is scheduled for this Sunday, June 26, when the Sunday night Bible study has concluded. We plan to meet at Kelly Thompson’s house for a swim and BBQ night.

Jonathan Creek will host our Youth Camp July 3-8. See Brenda McGregor for questions. In Christ, David and Marsha

CentriKid is next week! Please pray that our kids’ hearts will be opened to all the glorious things God will do this week. We will be leaving after Sunday School this Sunday and heading back home Thursday morning.

Music Camp is July 11th - 15th from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm for those students who have just completed kindergarten through 6th grade. The cost is $10; lunch and shirt will be provided. The camp will feature music from our “Submerged” VBS and the kids will showcase their musical on Sunday, 17th at 6:00 pm. Drama Auditions will take place Sunday, July 10th after the 10:50 am service (around 12:15 pm) in the fireside Room. Our Summer Faith Nights will begin Wednesday, July 6th and will continue for 4 weeks. July 6th will be a Movie Night! Bring a blanket and an appetite for popcorn! Cheerfully in Christ, Jeremy

The Sassy Ol Souls (SOS) are headed to Mount Airy, North Carolina this September 21 – 24 for Mayberry Days. Mayberry Days is a festival with activities and events for the fans who long for the days when life was simple and the sheriff didn't carry a

gun. Enjoy a bottle of pop while playing checkers, relaxing to music from many local bands playing the same songs that Andy grew up with and performed on The Andy Griffith Show. The trip includes your transportation, lodging, museum tour, some meals, and 3 shows. There is so much to do during the festival with a parade, food, and games. We will do all we can, but will remember to take time to slow down and enjoy Mayberry. Please call the church office to sign up and then make a

non-refundable deposit of $75 to reserve your place on this

trip. We need the deposit by July 15 so we can order the show

tickets before they sell out! The cost per person is $450

(double - 2 to a room); $375 (triple - 3 to a room); or $340

(quad – 4 to a room). We’ll put you together if you don’t have

your own roommate(s), just let us know how may you want to

room with. Be sure to get your $75 per person non-refundable

(but transferrable) deposit in NOW to save your spot! It’s going

to be a great trip, we want you with us! The costs are based

on at least 40 folks going, so tell your friends to join us!

Preparations for our 2016 Inasmuch Day have begun! While we will be doing some of the same projects we did last year such as food drives, gift baskets and home improvements, this year we

would like to focus our efforts on our surrounding neighborhoods. In order to determine our neighbors’ specific needs, on July 30 from 10:00 am until noon we will fan out in small groups and spend some time talking to our neighbors one-on-one. We will be sharing with them a list of projects/jobs we might be able to help them with, as well as listening to their suggestions on more ways we can help.

Be in prayer for the 32 children and 11 adults that will be attending Centri-Kid Camp this week. Pray that their hearts

will be open to God’s word . The children are to meet in the Fireside room after Sunday School at 11:00. They will eat and them get on the buses to head to Campbellsville. They will return home on

Thursday, June 30.
