Greetings from Your Lieutenant Governor
Hello Division 38!
Hope your October went well, and I hope you are all ready for the holiday festivities that are headed your way. Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF was a huge success this year thanks to all your hard work. I would like to take the time to thank each and every one of you for your eagerness and willingness to serve. Next month our division will be having a fundraiser at Panera Bread to help raise money for our division along with funds for the ELIMINATE project, please be sure to attend my DCM this month for more information. On a different note, it brings me great sadness to say that my term as your lieutenant governor is almost at an end, I have all the paperwork needed for Key Club members who are interested in running for Lieutenant Governor please feel free to contact me.
In Love and Service,
Georgette Lugalia

Kiwanis International is a global organization of members dedicated to serving the children of the
world. Kiwanis and its family of clubs—nearly 600,000 members strong—annually raise more than US$100
million and dedicate more than 18 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and serve children.
Members of every age attend regular meetings, experience fellowship, raise funds for various causes
and participate in service projects that help their communities. Members also make an impact
throughout the world by participating in Kiwanis International’s Global Campaign for Children, The Eliminate Project: Kiwanis eliminating maternal and
neonatal tetanus.
Without Kiwanis, Key Clubs near and far could not be what they are today. In saying this, I have to emphasize the importance of keeping a close relationship with our Kiwanis sponsors and clubs. Thanks to the support and
guidance of Kiwanians we are able to go out into the world and give back in service.

The Eliminate Project
One baby dies every 9 minutes from neonatal tetanus.
160 babies die each day from neonatal
tetanus.
On average, health education and a series of
three doses of tetanus vaccine cost $2.00

To eliminate MNT from the
Earth, more than 100 million
mothers and their future
babies must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage,
transportation, thousands of skilled staff and
more. It will take US$110 million — and the
dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of
the Kiwanis family. The end of this one disease
means the beginning of
better health for so many
families.
