The next one will be Friday, July 7th at 10:30 a.m. in the 4th-floor Chapel. MWUC Book Nook Check out the book shelf at the back of sanctuary. We have a good supply of used books looking for a new home. New books are put out on a regular ba- sis so please take a peek and see if there is anything that interests you! Fundraising with FundScrip FundScrip is our new fundraiser, where you can pur- chase gift cards for various retailers through its website (https://www.fundscrip.com/support-a-group/XEAZH4). The cards are delivered directly to you and MWUC makes some money on each purchase. The cards are purchased at face value (so, if you buy a $100 card you get an actual $100 card) and are availa- ble for over 190 retailers. Help MWUC keep funding its programs in the congrega- tion and wider community, and head to the website above to sign up and purchase gift cards! Next Sunday On June 11, we will mark the start of summer break for youth group and church school with an intergenerational service focused the first creation story in Genesis (chapter 1 through 2:4a) -- Bev June 4: joint service and potluck On June 4, 2017, Mill Woods United and the Zimbabwe- an United Methodist congregation will have a joint Pentecost service at 10:30 am. We will sing, pray, and reflect together on this annual celebration of the coming of the Spirit to the church. Following the service at 12 noon, we will gather in the Lower Hall to continue our celebration with a potluck lunch. Both the service and the lunch are designed to bring our two congregations closer together. Pride Parade, June 10 Mill Woods United will again have an enthusiastic group marching in the annual Pride Parade: Saturday June 10 from 11 am to 2 pm., on Whyte Ave. The United Church gathering place TBA. Come and show our solidarity with LGBTQ people here and around the world!

Volunteers for Canada Day Race We are looking for volunteers to help out on Canada Day to help with the Canada Day Race. Volunteers are need-ed generally between about 630am and 11 am. The race starts and finishes at the legislative grounds and runs in the river valley. It is fun; you get a race t-shirt, a hoodie, water bottle, finisher medal and coffee and snacks; and the reward of helping celebrate Canada's 150th birthday.
