HONORS: The Colorado Bar Associa-tion’s Young Lawyers Division named Loren Brown winner of its Gary L. McPherson Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year award. Brown is a shareholder with Donelson Ciancio & Grant.
The Colorado Crimi-nal Justice Reform Coalition gave Pen-field Tate its inaugural Rupert-Tate Game Changer Award. Tate, a shareholder with Greenberg Traurig, was honored for his role in sponsoring legislation to reduce prison expansion when he was in the Colorado Legislature.
LEGAL MATTERS: Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP, based in Kansas City, Mo., is open-ing an office in Greenwood Village on Feb. 1. The office is at 5613 DTC Park-way, Suite 970. The firm’s local partners will be Ernie Panasci, Deborah Bayles, Zsolt Bessko, Perry Glantz and Kristin Godfrey.
The Colorado Supreme Court and the Colorado Court of Appeals will move to their new home at the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center this month. The courts will open at 8 a.m. Dec. 19. Any deadlines for filings in either court on Dec. 17 and 18 will be automatically extended until Dec. 19. The new address for the courts is 2 E. 14th Ave., Denver, 80203. The telephone number for the clerk’s office is 720-625-5150.
James “Jim” Mulligan and his wife, Joan Burleson, both alumni of the Uni-versity of Denver law school, have given $2.25 million to endow the Mulligan Burleson Chair in Modern Learning at DU’s Sturm College of Law. Mulligan is a partner in the Denver office of Snell & Wilmer.
PARTNERS: Davis Graham & Stubbs elected Elizabeth Karpinski Vonne and Trent Martinet as partners effective Jan. 1. The firm also hired as partner Michael Snider, formerly a partner at Baker & McKenzie LLP.
Todd Seelman joined Lathrop & Gage as a partner. He was a partner in the Denver office of Ford & Harrison LLP.
