SECOND COLLECTION This weekend, May 21-22, 2016, our Second Collection will be a Diocesan collection to support Catholic Relief Ser-vices, the official international humanitar ian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. It alleviates suffering and provides assistance to people in need in more than 100 countries, without regard to race, religion or na-tionality.

We are here to answer your questions and assist in any way we can! Please do your best to be faith-ful to your pledge. The parish is relying on this. CONGRATULATIONS The Academic Year of our Reli-gious Education Program came to its end with the celebration of First Communion and Confir-mation. A total of 344 children received the Body of Christ for the very first time and 198 youth re-
ceived the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please pray for them and their families. We also want to say thanks and congrat-ulate to all catechists for their work and constant dedication which enable the success of the CCD Program during this preparation period.
BLOOD DRIVE
MEMORIAL DAY - HOLIDAY Monday, May 30th is Memorial Day and a National Hol-iday. There will be Mass at 9:00am only. The Church will close immediately following the 9:00am Mass. The Rectory office will also be closed. Enjoy the weekend.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR Next weekend, the Second Collection will be our Maintenance & Repair Collection to help with the repair and restoration of the parish. Thank you for your generosity and support.

SEGUNDA COLECTA Este fin de semana, 21-22 de Mayo del 2016, la segunda colecta Diocesana será para ayudar a los Servicios de Ali-vio a Católicos, es una agencia de ayuda humanitar ia internacional de la comunidad católica en los Estados Uni-dos. Alivia el sufrimiento y provee de asistencia a la gente en necesidad en mas de 100 países sin tomar en cuenta su raza, religión o nacionalidad.

FELICITACIONES
Con la Celebración de Primera Co-munión y Confirmación se clausura este año de preparación en nuestro Programa de Educación Religiosa. Un total 344 niños recibieron por primera vez el Pan Eucarístico y
198 jóvenes la Confirmación. Oremos por ellos y sus fami-lias. Felicitamos y agradecemos de manera especial a los Catequistas que con su trabajo y dedicación constante han ayudado al éxito de las actividades del Catecismo en este periodo. Que Dios les bendiga.

Registrations will start after June 15th, 2015. Require-ments are: 1. Be registered and active members of our parish com-munity. 2. Child’s Birth Certificate. 3. Child’s Baptismal Certificate . 4. Parents proof of address (envelopes of registration). If you are not registered as member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, please go to the Rectory office to do so. 5. Signed Mass and Class attendance contract. 6. There will be a registration fee. We will inform you in future bulletins.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2016, The School of Evangelization/Pastoral Institute commissioned 3 parishioners of Blessed Sac-rament to serve as Lay Leaders. Juan Cegueda, Campo Orlan-do Lopez and Martha E. Rubio Gonzalez have completed a 3 year study program at the Diocesan Pastoral Institute. Please join us in congratulating and thanking them for their dedica-tion and commitment to the Church. El Martes 19 de Mayo del 2016, La Escuela de Evangeliza-ción/Instituto Pastoral, nombr a 3 feligreses de nuestra pa-rroquia para servir como Lideres Laicos. CONGRATULATIONS FR. RICHARD! Fr. Richard Hoare, a priest for 42 years, parochial Vicar at Blessed Sacrament Church has officially retired at the age of 75. He will continue to serve the people of our community as long as he is able, to continue to be healthy and do the parish work that is needed.

MR. PRESIDENT, HALT THE RAIDS! Last week media outlets reported that the Obama Administration will initiate a new wave of raids to detain and deport Central American families and unaccompanied minors who have recently turned eighteen, despite the well-documented humanitarian and human rights crisis plaguing the Northern Triangle of Central America. El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala are currently experi-encing some of the highest rates of homicide and violence in the world, resulting in the forced displacement of thousands of their citizens to neighboring countries, as well as to the U.S. Will you join me in urging President Obama to stop these destructive raids? Many of those targeted for deportation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE), have valid claims to hu-manitarian protection in the United States but lacked adequate legal representation or were fast tracked through legal proceedings without basic due process guarantees. (see Jesuit Refugee Service/USA and U.S.-based Jesuit law schools involvement in ad-vocating for legal representation of children in migration and asylum proceedings) The targeting of these highly vulnerable children and families is part of an inhumane and inappropriate response to the current need for protection of Ventral American migrants. Returning endangered individuals to lie-threatening circumstances is a violation of our most basic commitments as a nation. As a person of faith committed to supporting our endangered migrant brothers and sisters, join me in urging our elected officials to stop the raids targeting Central American children an families! SEÑOR PRESIDENTE, ¡ALTO A LAS REDADAS! Los medios de comunicación informaron la semana pasada que la Administración Obama iniciará una nueva ola de redadas para detener y deportar a las familias de Centroamérica y menores no acompañados que hayan de cumplir dieciocho años, a pesar de la crisis bien documentada humanitaria y de derechos humanos que afecta al Triángulo Norte de América Central. El Salvador, Hondu-ras y Guatemala están experimentando algunas de las tasas más altas de homicidios y la violencia en el mundo, lo que resulta en el desplazamiento forzado de miles de sus ciudadanos a los países vecinos, así como a los EE.UU. ¿Se unirían a mi para instar al presidente Obama a poner un alto a estos ataques destructivos? Muchos de los destinatarios de expulsión por la Agencia de Control de Inmigración y Aduanas de EE.UU. (ICE), tienen reclamacio-nes válidas a la protección humanitaria en los Estados Unidos, pero carecían de representación legal adecuada o fueron por la vía rápida a través de un procedimiento judicial sin garantías básicas del debido proceso. Enviándoles de regrese los convertirían en individuos en peligro de extinción lo cual sería una violación de nuestros compromisos más básicos como nación. ¡Como una persona de fe comprometida a apoyar a nuestros hermanos y hermanas migrantes en peligro de extinción, les pido se unan a mí para instar a nuestros funcionarios elegidos a detener los ataques dirigidos a los niños de América Central de sus familias!
