1. Manage for big game on public ranges2. Graze with cattle or sheep in late spring or early

summer to retard understory competition3. Keep browse in reach of game and livestock and

prevent apical dominance4. Spraying effective in controlling Gambel oak5. Sawing effective in preventing apical dominance of

bitterbrush and many other shrubs6. Remove livestock by mid summer to prevent them
