One of the beauties of the NationalForest & Beyond is the fact it is so easilyaccessible from the M1, M6, A50, M42and A38. Centrally located in thecountry and with an excellent roadnetwork in and around the Forest,far-flung families often choose thisarea for get-togethers.

In less than 20 years, one of the least wooded parts of the country has beentransformed. Nearly eightmillion trees have beenplanted, trebling thewoodland cover, creatinghabitats for wildlife

and a beautiful landscape forpeople to enjoy. These trees, about 90% broadleaf, arematuring well and newwoodlands continue to becreated. The ultimate goal is

for woodland to coveraround a third of theForest area and to linkthe ancient forests of

Charnwood andNeedwood.

You can help create this ‘forest in the making’ through ourplantatree scheme. You will be invited to a special treeplanting day and receive a certificate. This makes a great gift! For more information contact the National Forest Company on01283 551 211 or visit the website www.nationalforest.org
