The basic concept of the new interactive VEM catalogue

General information for the use of the catalogue via internet and intranet:

Browser selection: • Preferably Mozilla Firefox, • Chrome • Use in connection with Internet Explorer might cause problems

Local installation: • Available on USB stick (8 GB) in September 2015 • Start from USB stick is possible • Required disk space for installation on computer approx. 3 GB • Local installation update via internet possible in September 2015

Intranet: The intranet catalogue version 10.. is currently updated daily at 6.00 pm directly from the developers site Internet: Release on 01.09.2015 after end of internal test phase

Use of mobile technology based on Windows, Android, iOS or Linux The use via intranet/internet is possible with some limitations. When selecting rtf-format the formatting of the document is lost. Forwarding to other users is possible without restrictions. However it is recommended to change to pdf-format. The use of the 3D module requires Java script. This is not possible for these types of system software.

Use of configurator when changing from standard design to

design with brake/forced ventilation

1. Many of the motor types can be designed as brake motors or motors with forced ventilation

or brake motors with forced ventilation. Please observe the following:

1.1. Change of „Type definition“ in „Basic mechanical design“

to „Brake motor“

1.2. Selection of required brake manufacturer in „Mounts and additional accessories“,

choice box „Brake“

2. For change of cooling type from self-ventilation to forced ventilation:

2.1 Change of cooling type in „Selection for design-engineering“ / „Cooling system“

from IC 411 to IC 416

2.2 Selection of the required ventilator in „Mounts and additional accessories“,

choice box „Type of external ventilator“

3. For brake motors with forced ventilation

select 1.1, 2.1, 1.2 and 2.2

Installation of electronic catalogue v10

Internet - Start by following link on our web page www.vem-group.com

- PC, smartphone or tablet must have internet access

Direct start from USB stick (only for Windows-PC)

- Catalogue files must be stored in a subdirectory

- slow access because all data is loaded via USB interface

Installation on a Windows-PC

- either use of the included setup programme

or simple copying into a file folder (writing permission!)

- executable under Windows XP up to and including Windows 10

- required free memory approx. 4 GB

- MS WORD should be installed to be able to show rtf-files correctly

Otherwise select pdf-printout

Server-based installation - Start as WEB-server

- Access is possible from all browsers, use of different terminal devices and operating

systems (Windows, Android, IOS, Linux)
