The New Face of Seattle Yoga Centers

Have you looked around Seattle

lately? The city is teeming with

yoga studios, from downtown to

Belltown, from Capitol Hill to

First Hill, as well as almost every

other neighborhood in between!

It must be true, what the rest of

the country says about us – we

are interested in being fit and healthy.

But have you noticed something else? In the past few years, the

yoga “studios” have evolved into yoga “centers.” Many of them

are no longer small spaces offering maybe one or two different

types of yoga, one class at a time. While those are perfectly fine

time-honored places to practice yoga, the new Yoga Centers are

multifaceted facilities, offering not only numerous different types

of yoga-related practices, but integrated exercises as well.

And the options seem to be endless! There are the Centers that

focus exclusively on yoga, offering classes like yoga for the body

and mind, yoga for the mind and spirit, even yoga for the body

and environment. Then there are other Centers like LAB5 Fitness,

that offer yoga by itself, or yoga integrated into other workouts

like Pilates, Feldenkrais, Aerial Conditioning – even ballet.

These multifaceted Yoga Centers also offer different class

formats. You can join large (20+ people) classes, small (8-10

people) classes, or even have individual instruction. And age is no

barrier to enjoying the benefits of today’s Yoga Centers. You can

easily find one that offers classes focused for kids, teens, seniors

– even prenatal. Of course there are lots and lots of classes for all

ages together – so the different class options are now better than

ever.

So you might be thinking that all of these opportunities at

multifaceted Yoga Centers have hiked the class prices

significantly. Not so! Seattle’s Yoga Centers continue to strive to

keep costs within reason, so more and more people can

experience the benefits of a fit and healthy life. The most popular

way they do this is by offering multi-class passes. Pay for 6

classes at a time, or maybe 10, and receive a discount. Some

Centers also offer month-long unlimited passes (attend as many

classes as you have time for during the month). Perhaps the best

feature of most multi-class passes is that they are not class

specific – they can be used in any class offered at that Center.

Yoga in Seattle has never been more accessible, more integrated

into other workouts, or more fun. LAB5 Fitness has an extensive

schedule of yoga classes and convenient options for different

packages. We’re all about providing the best fitness experience

possible, so you can use Yoga as part of your overall fitness

program by integrating your own personalized program. Hop on

the Yoga trend and take your first class at LAB5 Fitness for free.
