Unique driving experience

The feeling of operating one of the new big Kalmar lift trucks must

be experienced to be believed. The extraordinary visibility, comfort

and low center of gravity, combined with the new electronically

controlled gearbox and controls, let you maneuver surely and

smoothly at all speeds ...all this while you lift and place loads with

unerring precision.

The system is electronically monitored to ensure reliability

and can be adjusted to give you the best operating characteristics

Stepless automatic gearbox

This new transmission is exclusive to our new line of Kalmar lift

trucks. It provides virtually stepless automatic shifting through

the forward gears and equally smooth shifts between forward

and reverse.

Optimum Drive

This unique feature of the transmission allows the operator to inch

the truck along at a steady rate, even while lifting a heavy load at

full engine power. The accelerator independently controls the truck

speed while the hoist lever governs engine power.

Electronic inching

Electronic inching allows precision driving while maintaining

high engine revs for hydraulic functions. New slip control means

you can steplessly regulate speed with the brake pedal while

lifting at full power.

Optimum Rev keeps fuel consump-tion, emissions and noise levels low.

The new Kalmar lineup of big trucks integrates the drive line,

lifting equipment, chassis and driver environment into a finely

tuned, highly responsive material handling system.

Optimum Speed

When you activate the hoist lever, this patent-pending system

senses the weight of the load and the engine revs to produce

the maximum lifting power for those parameters. It can increase

unloaded lifting speed by as much as 50 percent.

The module-based design ensures consistently high perfor-

mance, with all components working smoothly together.

Optimum Rev

Patent-pending Optimum Rev senses the engine revs, the position

of the hoist lever and the weight of the load to deliver the lowest

possible fuel consumption, exhaust emissions and noise levels.

A variable-speed pump delivers the exact pressure needed for

any given situation.

Load-sensitive hydraulic pump

As with Optimum Rev, this mechanically controlled pump contributes

to lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions by regulating the

pressure and flow of hydraulic fluid to provide just the necessary

pressure to raise the load.

The interior is spacious and durablewith the industry's best view to the front.

Open safety cage can be fitted with any combination of windowsand doors, even after delivery.

Spirit Delta Cab is the industry's leader for first-class comfort and ergonomics. You simply

add the options that best fit your needs.

New optional FlexCab can be fitted out as a complete cab or an open safety cage and

everything in between. It's a simple, rugged, economical concept that easily fills all your require-

ments for visibility, operator comfort and ergonomics.

FlexCab

The new FlexCab can be whatever you

make it. A covered cab, an open safety

cage or just a windscreen; but all with

excellent visibility. Beams and posts in

the cage frame are profiled to open

up the view ahead and give this cab

the best front visibility in the industry.

FlexCab can be adapted to the local

climate. Windows and doors are

all optional and can be removed

or replaced according to working

conditions.

Engine hood, counterweight and mast are all designed for the best possible visibility.

A new standard in all-round visibility

The first time you put yourself in the operator's seat of this truck,

you realize that a new standard has been set for visibility in all

directions. The counterweight and engine hood are sloped for a

closer view of the ground to the rear. The exhaust pipe has been

tucked behind the right-side "B" pillar and out of the way. The air

filter has been concealed under the cab, leaving only the low-profile

intake. To the front, the mast crosshead has been reshaped to

present a narrower profile, plus hydraulic cylinders, hoses and

chains are repositioned for a better view. All these design changes

further improve Kalmar's already exceptional front visibility.

Designed for reduced servicing

Maintenance of lifting equipment on these trucks takes less time

and effort because of improvements made in the carriage and mast.

Hard, plastic blocks have replaced support rollers in the carriage

and mast, eliminating some lubrication points and extending service

intervals and life span. Double seals in the cylinders and new ORFS

hydraulic couplings ensure minimum leakage. Periodic maintenance

service intervals are increased to 500 hours.
