Recently I meta resident who is new to theVillage and Iintroduced herto anotherBrookvilleneighbor withwhom I’d becomeacquainted. As Isuspected mighthappen, they discovered many commoninterests – a connection was made. Atanother C.W. Post community event, two gentlemen who live less than a mileapart, but had never met, discoveredthey shared a fondness for playing cardsand a new friendship began. Often times, neighbors who did not know they wereneighbors meet each other for the firsttime at a C.W. Post-sponsored event. This is one of the highlights of my job.Building bridges and strengthening tiesin the community is a top priority for me.

On a late spring evening, I worked andlearned alongside a group of Villageresidents who were on campus for a tourand tree-planting workshop at the C.W.Post Community Arboretum (see coverstory). Meandering along the arboretumtrails, we chatted and got to know eachother. I always welcome the chance tomeet a new neighbor or catch up withan acquaintance and this was a fineopportunity to do so!

Throughout the year we plan eventsand programs with you in mind. Iencourage your participation in theserich and varied arts, cultural, educationaland intellectually stimulating programs. The University is proud to share itsresources and it is my hope that byintroducing you to the C.W. PostCampus we can enrich your lives.

I hope to see you on campus soon. Youcan reach me at (516) 299-3500 or [email protected].
