Welcome New Board Members

We are pleased to welcome two new members to the CSC Board of Directors:

Julie Deppner – currently Julie serves as Executive Director and CEO at Silver Maples. This experience alone would be helpful to CSC but she also has a long history of involvement in the Chelsea community. She started as a teacher at Chelsea High in 1995 and rose to become the Chelsea School District Assistant Superintendent.

John Knox – John is active in the Chelsea communi-ty as well. He is currently President of the Chelsea Kiwanis and serves on the Adult Steering Commit-tee for SRSLY. He and his wife Marianne are fixtures at many events around Chelsea.

Senior Nutri on Program is supported by Area Agency on Aging 1B and

Washtenaw County OCED in partnership with Chelsea School District.

SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM Senior Café

We are not serving a daily lunch.

Meals on Wheels Home delivered meals is an option available for seniors, 60 plus, who are unable to prepare meals. The program delivers meals to home-bound seniors in Chelsea and Manchester. If you know of someone who could benefit from a friendly check in and a meal call the Center at 734.475.9242. $3/meal suggested donation.

C2S2 The Chelsea Senior Center has been offering services beyond our walls since 2013. We provide referrals for many requests including in-home care, house cleaning, handyman services, and transportation needs. Give Mackenzie or Emily a call, 734.475.9242, if you need anything!

ROAM ROAM is a program launched by the Chelsea Senior Center to address transportation challenges in rural communities. The WAVE, including the ROAM Bus, provides rides that are scheduled in advance through them, where and when the WAVE is available. You can schedule a ride on a WAVE bus or the ROAM Bus by calling 734.475.9494. By scheduling in advance, Seniors can ride the ROAM Bus for free to the Senior Center and Center members enjoy free rides to locations within the ROAM service area.

TRAVEL Due to the current situation and the uncertainty day to day, the decision was made to cancel all trips for 2020. We look forward to what 2021 brings!

INTERGENERATIONAL GARDEN We’ve still been hard at work in the IG this summer. Ava, our garden intern, has been working with our volunteers. We had drive by green pick ups when we were able to harvest early crops from the hoophouse. We hope to have produce available at the farm stand again.

Tai Chi and Senior Focus Yoga

Chelsea Senior Center is thrilled to partner with

Washtenaw Community College’s Emeritus

Program (WCC) to host several Senior Focus classes

each term: Tai Chi, Yoga, and Exercise.

Due to the pandemic, WCC is not sponsoring senior

enrichment classes onsite at their community

partners this Fall so if we are able to offer in‐person

fitness classes yet this year, you won’t see these

programs listed.

WCC remains VERY commi ed to providing senior

focus programs to local seniors, so they will be

offering many fitness and enrichment classes

virtually. Stay tuned for registra on informa on!
