The OSC arrives at the mill The Oregon Scooter Club’s… BLAKE MORLEY TAKES THE LEAD IN SEPTEMBER! Two ferries and lots of twisties will be the order of the day when Blake leads his first OSC open ride on September 7, 2008. Titled the Ferry Circle Tour Blake will lead us on an adventure that spans four counties. Don’t miss this open ride and be sure to say an extra Thank You to Blake for stepping up to lead his first OSC ride. Come ride with us. Open rides are held on the first Sunday of every month. No prior group riding experience is required and participation is free for both members and non-members. OREGON SCOOTER RAID 6–AUGUST 1 - 3, 2008 It is here- Oregon Scooter Raid 6. The full agenda is posted on the website. Here is a thumbnail sketch of the activities. Friday 6:00 PM, Meet & Greet at Corazzo (NE 10th & Couch). Saturday 9:00, AM, Ride leaves the Bomber restaurant; 11:30am: Arrive at camp, set up, Noon: lunch, 1:30 PM Scenic ride to Silver Falls; followed by movies, and camp fun. Sunday – 9:00 AM breakfast and camp fun; 6:00 PM last rider out. GRIST MILL RIDE, RECAP It was a warm sunny day for the OSC July open ride when 14 scooters and 15 riders departed for the Grist Mill. The ride was perfect and the pack arrived at the grist mill just as the grist mill staff were starting their presentations on how to grind grain. Be sure to check out the the OSC website for all the photos. The pack, lead by Jake Stept, had a variety of scooters in it. Newest scooter was a lovely red Yamaha Majesty with less than 400 miles on it, ridden by Michael Blosser. On the other end of the age spectrum the oldest scooter was Brett Rogers' Honda Elite 250. Biggest scooter was Steve Castle's Burgman 650, and the smallest was Jim Chapman's Vespa PX150. In August we will have two opportunities to ride as group. CHOO CHOO SCOOT - AUGUST 24, 2008 & CHOO CHOO SCOOT “EXTRAS -AUGUST 22 & 23, 2008 What is the Choo Choo Scoot and it’s Extras? The Choo Choo Scoot is a members only ride/day trip and the Extras are an additional ride and camping opportunity. Interested? Read on for more details. The Choo Choo Scoot is a members only ride to the Molalla Train Park where the Pacific Northwest Live Steamers operate a 7 ½ inch gauge model railroad on a line know as the Shady Dell Pacific.

The train park has picnic facilities and train rides are available. Admission and train rides are free, but donations are accepted so, if it fits your budget, bring along a couple of bucks to donate to this non-profit train park. Toss a sack lunch or some snacks in your back pack as we will be spending an hour or so at the train park. Full details will be posted on the OSC website as they are firmed up. The Choo Choo Scoot Extras are an opportunity camp on Friday and Saturday night at the Kober Celebration Center, private park just out side of Canby that is owned by an OSC member’s family.

You are welcome to camp either both nights or just one. Showers and restrooms are available. A special treat for those of you attending the Extras,on Saturday Rick Fletcher will fire up his smoker and slow cook a batch of pork ribs. While the ribs are cooking members will enjoy a ride in outer southeast Clackamas county. Scooter drive in movies will be shown on Saturday night. Attend any part you like, but come on out and enjoy a benefit of your membership – Members only rides and events. All the details will be posted on the web site as they develop. OREGON SCOOTER RAID 6INDULGENCES This year’s Raid will offer a couple of opportunities to sample some specialty pleasures. OSC brew master Brett Rogers will be bringing 10 gallons of his home brew for group consumption, and OSC tobacconist Rick Fletcher will be offering up three pipe tobaccos for sharing including a tin of 6 year old Dunhill Nightcap, the Latikeia lovers dream. The tin of Nightcap will be opened on site to assure its potency and freshness. Bring your mug and pipe and hang out with the hedonist as we share our self-indulgent pleasures with the Oregon Scooter Raid 6 crew. WHO IS THAT MAN LIVING IN LUXURY AT SCOOTER RAID 6 AND HOW DID HE GET THE A-FRAME It is our very own Jason Radies who the raffele for the best spot at the Raid. Aug. 1 - 3 Oregon Scooter Raid 6

Friday night meet and greet in town, Saturday morning we ride to the Millers Brothers Ranch for a weekend of fun – Check the website for details.

Aug. 22 - 24 Choo Choo Scoot Extras – OSC Members Only (Camping & Rides) Come for all or part of the camping and rides leading up to the Choo Choo Scoot. Fun for all on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with free camping and rides south of Canby. See the OSC web site for details.

Aug. 24 Choo Choo Scoot – OSC Members Only (Day Trip) A day ride to the Shady Dell Miniature Rail Road. It is not necessary to participate in any of the “Extras” to be a part of this day ride. Members only on this ride.

Sep. 7 Ferry Circle Tour – Open Ride Blake will lead us on a tour across two ferries over the Willamette, and circle north over Bald Peak and Skyline for some great twisties.

Sep. 30 2008/09 Ride Planning Session We will be making our plans for our rides for the next year. Join us as we set the stage for another year of OSC fun.
