Ø LIST JOB AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR MERCER STUDENTS Use Mercer’s Career Services office to find a qualified Mercer student to match your needs. Whether you’re searching for a waitress with good people skills or a graphic designer looking to gain experience, Mercer students are willing and able to put their skills to work! Many are searching for project-based internships or shadowing opportunities in their field of study and would love to work with you!

Ø OFFER DISCOUNTS AND DEALS TO MERCER STUDENTS

Incentivize students to frequent your business by offering attractive discounts. Think outside the box with your offers— buy one, get one half-off desserts; congratulatory beverage after winning a basketball game; or date night movie ticket discounts.

Ø SUPPORT THE MERCER BEARS! Students appreciate businesses that appreciate them. Show Mercer students your support by displaying your Mercer pride— hang your favorite MU jerseys above the door, display team schedules, showcase Greek letter jerseys, or hang pictures of students at your place of business. Better yet, make your presence known by doing business with student organizations, sponsoring give-aways at athletic events, and attending Mercer games!

Ø Promote Local Businesses on Campus Check our website, sga.mercer.edu, for the most up-to-date information on Paint the Town Orange. There you will also find our promotional information for students— everything from an area map of Mercer-friendly businesses, a listing of student discounts, and a “bucket list” that highlights some of Macon’s most beloved landmarks. You will also find a link to check out ShopLocalMacon.com, where students can search for a listing of registered Mercer-friendly businesses.

Ø Match Capable Students with your Job and Internship Opportunities

By marketing the Office of Career Services to students, SGA is working to match each posted job or internship opportunity with a student working in that field of study. Whether your business needs a rising engineer to assist existing partners, a marketing intern to launch your firm’s social media campaign, or additional staff to meet the needs of your growing customer base, Mercer students can provide the expertise you’ve been missing.

To get involved in Paint the Town Orange, contact Mercer SGA at [email protected] or visit our website at sga.mercer.edu.

Look for our students around your place of business this fall! This partnership is only the catalyst of a much bigger, student driven movement to paint Macon a new shade: one of optimism, of community, and of

economic growth.
