Sacraments of Initiation Adults or school aged children inquiring about the Faith, for the reception of Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist, and for Reception into Full Communion of the Catholic Church, please call Marianna Rossi . Baptism of Children is celebrated on Sundays at 1:30 PM. All baptisms must be scheduled in advance. Please call the parish office to make the necessary arrangements. Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation: The Rite of Reconciliation is celebrated on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM and from 4:00 PM to 5:00 pm, and by ap-pointment. Sacrament of Marriage Couples are encouraged to con-tact the Parish Office soon after their engagement to meet with one of the Parish Priests. It is recommended that a date is set with the Church before a date is set with a re-ception hall. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia requires that couples make arrangements for the Wedding no less than six months prior to the planned date of marriage. Either the bride or the groom must be a registered mem-ber of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish for the Wedding to be scheduled. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and Com-munion of the Sick The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available anytime upon request. Communion of the Sick for the homebound is arranged through the Parish Office and anytime upon request. The Sacrament of Holy Orders Any man interested in the Diaconate or Priesthood should contact one of the Parish Priests or the Vocation Office for the Diocesan Priesthood at 610-667-5778. Also, anyone interested in the Religious Life should contact one of the Parish Priests for further direction.

You will receive a letter in early September informing you of our start date and your child(ren)’s catechist and classroom for the 2016-2017 year. OLGC Evangelization Project My brothers and sisters, as you continue discerning this summer which people to invite to join us at Church, you may wish to consider the following the suggestion if you don't know where to start. During his earthly ministry, our Lord's evangelization outreach more often than not focused on people going through some life crisis: illness, death of a loved one, failed family relationships, demonic possession or dead end jobs. We would do well to emulate Jesus' example in our own evangelization efforts in our neighborhoods, work places, extended families and friends. When people are in the midst of intense suffering, they need all the moreso the guidance, encouragement and inspiration found in the Gospel message. We encour-age you then to keep in the forefront those individuals who are currently undergoing some form of suffering and have no religious affiliation. We have the precious gift of our faith to help them deal with any possible crisis, for we know that suffering is key to our redemp-tion. We offer them the gift of hope in the face of de-spair, something far more valuable than silver or gold. If you are struggling with how to take the first step, just drop us a line at [email protected] or call 225-357-1300 x 176. Our Evangelization Team members realize that it is not always easy to get up our courage to reach out and make that initial invitation, but based on our own experience, it is well worth the time and effort. Success in any of life's endeavor al-ways entails taking risks, and when we rise to the oc-casion, we receive the joy and satisfaction that comes from stepping out in faith. Parish Meetings KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS MEMBERSHIP Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practical (that is, prac-ticing) Catholics in union with the Holy See. This means that an applicant or member accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspires to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and is in good standing in the Catholic Church. OLGC Council also welcomes fellow knights who wish to transfer from another Council.
LADIES AUXILIARY MEMBERSHIP Membership in the Ladies Auxiliary to the Knight of Columbus Council 15658. is open to women 18 years of age or older within and outside the Parish who are prac-ticing Catholics in union with the Holy See. Any Catholic woman registered in another parish is also wel-comed to join.
