Dear Parish Family ~ Well, that was a Holy Week and Easter observance that we won't soon forget… Thankfully, we were able to "be together" virtually... and we're very much of aware of how thankful you are for the opportunity to pray together this way. I want you to know how thankful WE are that you "tune in" and join us in this fashion. It's not ideal, but it's not going to be this way forever.... There was a comfort in coming together for the liturgies of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday. In a time when we've become accustomed to things being cancelled or closed, it was reassuring to pray these days together... as someone remarked: "Easter isn't cancelled. It's just different this year." As always, I hope that you are safe and healthy... we've gotten word of a small number of folks who are ill and, sadly, some who have passed away. Some are related to the Corona Virus and some are due to other causes. Please e-mail the parish office if you have a family member who is ill, or one who has passed away, so that the priests can remember them when we celebrate Mass. So, life as we know it remains on "PAUSE"... Sacramentally, there is no change to what we've been practicing the past month... no baptisms, weddings or funerals. We will continue to Live Stream our Sunday Mass on Face Book ~ Mass in English at 11:00 AM and the Misa in Espanol at 12:00 Noon. The Rectory Staff continue to work remotely... and I thank them for helping to keep the administrative life of the parish going... I wouldn't know where to begin to do the things they get accomplished! Our Deacons are also ministering remotely... they're connecting with brides and grooms who need to reschedule weddings... they're continuing to support our prayer groups... and to provide support and guidance wherever it's needed. St Patrick's School remains closed until further notice... I'd like to thank Mrs. Petruccio, the faculty and staff for continuing to "teach remotely" and helping our kids to have some normalcy in regards to their academics. This is best captured in a message from one of our parents: "I will be forever grateful to St. Patrick school for not only giving my daughters a great education and values but also for the kindness and love shown to our family during this challenging time." Let me say...Thank God for wonderful parents... what an extraordinary time to be a parent... and all our Parents are rising to the challenge beautifully! Thank You! Our Religious Education Program would just be gearing up for the First Communion Season... Unfortunately, those celebrations will have to be postponed for the time being. I want to thank Mrs. Reinhold, Mrs. Rand, and Mrs. O'Rourke, for the fantastic way they have remained connected with our families, creatively providing families with Religious Ed projects to do at home, and planning for the day when we can gather our youngsters together again. Incredibly, our Parish Social Ministry and Hospitality Center has remained open throughout all of this uncertainty! Our Director ~ Kerri Ostrow ~ with a remarkable band of volunteers ~ have continued to meet the needs of our vulnerable neighbors. Last week they distributed over 250 "Grab and Go" meals... and they've been helped in that effort by the donations they've received from so many of YOU! Thank you for supporting them! Last week, someone driving by saw the work of compassion that was taking place in our Hospitality Center and got out of their car, found Kerri, and gave her a very generous donation towards that work! Light shines through the shadows of these days... I'm know there are countless similar stories going on all around us... it reaffirms our belief of the goodness within each of us... and strengthens us in the hope that there are better days ahead. Please continue to pray for all those in the Healthcare field who are caring for those who are ill.... often at great personal risk and sacrifice.... pray for those who continue to do their work so that essential services are not interrupted... let's pray that we each do "our part" to get through this moment. First Communion
Please note that due to the current health crisis, the First Holy
Communion Masses scheduled for April 18th and April 25th have been
postponed. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you
updated in regard to First Communion Masses schedule for
