A message from the President,
It’s all about fun events for the CWMP kids this October!
The HERricane 5K Glam Run is almost here and the community
support has been incredible! From all the sponsors to the PHUHS
teachers, students, parents and administrators who signed up to run
and volunteer, we are overwhelmed and thankful! Come cheer on
over 300 runners, 75 volunteers and our 25 sponsors on October 4th,
7am at Pop Stansell Park.
Calling for Volunteers!
We are looking for parent volunteers to chaperone the 10th grade
field trip to Morton Plant Mease. We need 4 parents each Oct 22nd
and 23rd, 8am-11:30am. Contact [email protected] if you
can help. This field trip cannot happen without the parent chaper-
ones.
The Junior Scrubs Ceremony is also this month and we need dessert
and drink donations! If you wish to donate, please contact
[email protected] for a list of needed items.
Don’t forget Honor Roll Donut Day is Oct 31st. Any CWMP student
that made Honor Roll for the grading period will get a Donut Day
Ticket in one of their medical classes to redeem for a free donut.
Let’s beat last year’s honor roll record of 70% for the first grading
period!
We can’t forget to thank our newest CWMP sponsors: CEA Market-
ing and H&R Block at Boot Ranch. We appreciate your support!
Until next newsletter,
Gina Kugler

The HOSA District Conference was held at the Rusty Pelican in Tampa. The conference was a lottery for the Health Science 1 and Biomedical students. All the students whose names were drawn were from Health Science 1.
Congratulations Health Science 1 for placing 2nd in the Creative Problem Solving Competition.
From Left to Right: Sarah Devine, Sophia Ershova, Lisa Bemis, Nathan Weaver, Miki Hodges & Sarah Billris
Our science teacher, Kelly Webb, had the opportunity to select free microscopes courtesy of the National Forensic Science Technology Center in Largo. Palm Harbor University received over $13K worth of equipment which is now being used in our Biomedical Program. Science instructors from five Pinellas and Hillsborough county high schools and colleges visited the NFSTC laboratory last May to pick out supplies and equipment. NFSTC generously made items that it no longer needed available to local science instructors

She would like to major in Clinical Sciences. The Pulse: Is the Medical program what you expected it to be; is it harder or easier than anticipated? Sofia: The Medical program is pretty much what I expected, although it has been a little harder than I anticipated. The Pulse: What is your favorite class? Sofia: My favorite class is math because it comes so easy to me. The Pulse: What is your favorite elective? Sofia: I really enjoy being a Teacher’s Assistant because I feel like I am put on a higher level and get to do things that other students can’t. The Pulse: Do you have a favorite teacher? Sofia: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Spicciati. I am her T.A. in the medical office. The Pulse: What is the most interesting thing you have learned by being part of the Medical Program? Sofia: Learning about how to do CPR was the most interesting part of the medical program. The Pulse: What advice to you have for other medical students? Sofia: My advice would be to study hard and to take all your classes seriously.
