WorshipOur services use multi-media, contemporary music, and provide a message that connects with people’s lives.

NurseryWe have loving caregivers available for children, birth through three years old, during: Sunday worship services 10 & 11:30a, Wednesday 6p worship service, and most classes. Our staff is trained and our nursery is well equipped. An electronic paging system is available.

Fellowship DinnerFellowship dinners are on Wednesday nights from 5-6:30p. Come for food, stay for a class!

FUSIONBringing Families Back Together! An exciting new worship opportunity for families is kicking off on Sunday, September 11 at 11:30a in the Senior High Room. Every family is encouraged to attend this awesome interactive family worship experience, where we’ll talk about real issues and give you the opportunity to connect with your family in deep discussions, interactive activities, energized worship and so much more!

FUSION is bringing families together the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month, September through April, from 11:30a-12:15p.

1st First Luncheon More information about Shepherd’s Gate will be shared at our upcoming luncheons. Sundays, 9/11, 10/23 or 12/11 at 12:40 p are the dates where you can learn who we are and what we believe. Fellowship with our Pastors and a pizza lunch as well as information on our various ministries will be shared. Child care is available.

Discovery Seminar Two weekends are planned for persons who want to take the next step and learn more about us. Friday night 5:30-9p and Saturday 8:30a-3:30p sessions are available on 9/30-10/1 and 11/11-11/12. A weekend seminar is required for membership but is also open for everyone to attend. Meals including dinner Friday evening, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday.

Serving TeamsEvery person is an important part of the body of Christ and it is fun to be involved and it’s a great way to meet people and build friendships. Men’s Group Join in the “Great Adventure”. The “Great Adventure” is a DVD based group by Robert Lewis that explores a man and his world beyond the everyday. It assists in creating a vision for a man’s future and destiny. 9/14-12/14.

Women’s Bible StudyThis group will be studying two different studies. The first, Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted is a seven session DVD study by Priscilla Shirer. The second study, Measureless, is a three study by Beth Moore based on Ephesians 3:18-19. Both studies will transform your life. Facilitators: Ada Roeser, Laura Duronio, Kim Schultz. 9/14-12/14. Life by His Word-revelation While everyday can be challenging, it is in Revelation we read of Christ with His Church in worship on earth and in Heaven. Housechurch or TriadsHere at Shepherd’s Gate we offer multiple options for you to live your life in Christ in relationship with fellow believers. Our encouragement to you is that you would choose one of these options. In addition to on campus Bible Groups we have House Churches and Triads which meet off campus. Healing is a ChoiceStruggling with a past hurt? Dealing with anger or unforgiveness? Based on Steven Arterburn’s book, our support group setting allows you to reach the emotional healing God offers us, by identifying ten healing choices and the ten lies we commonly believe.

BoundariesThis group helps people manage their relationships and life in a healthy way. You’ll have the opportunity to learn Godly communication skills and appropriate boundary maintenance. DVD’s, activities, and class discussions provide insights in this best selling series by Cloud and Townsend.

LifeCare TrainingDecember, 2011 (By appointment)We need your help to support the many hurting people who walk through our doors to attend a LifeCare Support Group. Groups offer comfort for those experiencing grief, divorce, unemployment, and other difficult life circumstances.

We’re looking for volunteers, especially male adults, who’ve experienced divorce as an adult or child, and can offer support to adults or kids who are “going through it”.

You’ll never go it alone on a LifeCare team. First step: register for the training sessions with Kristen Heaney to prepare you for LifeCare’s January-April Thursday night group sessions. Next: “shadow” with another LifeCare Coach to see how it’s done. You don’t have to have all the answers, just a heart willing to reflect Christ’s love.

Sunday Student Serve OpportunitiesOn Sundays during the 10:00a education hour, our junior high and high school students have a chance to give back and serve Shepherd’s Gate in a variety of ways. We’re calling it iServe. Students going into 9th through 12th grade can volunteer for Kids Quest. There are many positions including: student helper, worship team, sound, lights, security, etc. Students going into 7th and 8th grade can help in our nursery and 2’s and 3’s classes. Both groups can also sign up to help in FUSION. Please see Kathy Larsen or email her at [email protected].

Junior High youth MinistryThe 7th & 8th grade youth meet in the Jr. High Room #18 on Wednesdays, 7-8:30p. Guests are always welcome. Youth participate in lessons, games and small group activities. First Communion and Confirmation SeminarsShepherd’s Gate offers a series of seminars to help students fully understand our beliefs and provide insights about our church. The fall seminars are taking place on Saturday, November 5 from 8:30a-12:00p. Each student should bring their Youth Bible and Small Catechism.

Junior High retreatThe Junior High Retreat is October 15-16 in Attica, Michigan at Michigan Christian Youth Camp and is required for all First Communion and Confirmation students. Students participate in group building activities, worship services and small groups. Friends are also welcome to attend!

Belize 2012 Student & Family Mission TripHave you ever felt called by God to serve in a foreign country? We are heading to Belize over Spring Break in 2012 (March 30 to April 7). Belize is located south of Mexico and east of Guatemala in Central America. The trip is open to students (7th grade and older), adults and entire families. Our first mandatory meeting is on Thursday, September 15 @ 7p in the Junior High Room along with the first $200 payment.

See you at the Pole-SyaTPSee You at the Pole is a student-initiated, student organized, and student-led event where students meet at their school flagpole to pray for their school, friends, teachers, government, and their nation. See You at the Pole is not a demonstration, political rally, nor a stand for or against anything. SYATP is scheduled this year for September 28! The suggested starting time is 7a (or 30 minutes before school starts). Parents, we encourage you to go with your students to the flagpole. This is a great event which is held only once a year!

KIDS QUeST

Sundays @ lOamOur Sunday morning Kids Quest features adult and youth Faith Guides engaging kids in small groups through games, crafts, and great discussions, then leading them into an interactive large group presentation of Worship, Bible stories, Dramas and Games. Children are placed in small groups according to age and grade level; friends are always welcome! This incredible journey into faith will encourage everyone involved to love God, love others, and serve the world every single day.

• Quest 56. We’re going to continue our summer youth group this fall! Every week we will have crazy games, group lesson, small groups, and, of course, tasty snacks.

Quest 56 CampThis fall Quest 56 is heading to camp! November 11-13 we’ll be heading to SpringHill Camp in Evart, MI for an awesome weekend of worship, crazy fun games, great times hanging out with friends, andmore! All current 5th and 6th graders are invited! The cost is $129 for the entire weekend including all activities, food, lodging, transportation and more! Drivers/Chaperones will be needed. Family Fall FestivalOur annual Family Fall Festival is taking place Wednesday, October 26 from 6-8:30pm. Candy, Chili, Hotdogs, Hayrides, Games, Petting Farm, Fire Truck, Police Car, Ice Cream, Donuts & Cider and much more! The best part ...lt’s all FREE! This event is designed for children of all ages, including contests, family games and activities for everyone age 1 through 101. Costumes are welcome but not mandatory (please no creepy or evil natured costumes). Everyone is invited. Bring your neighbors and grandparents, too!

Kids Quest Fall Missions ProjectKids Quest will be hosting a “Book Drive” for Mission of Hope in Honduras. We will be collecting books in Spanish appropriate for children ages 4 to 7. Bill and Ellen Gass, our missionaries to Honduras, will hand deliver the books we collect.

Kids Quest & Preschool Christmas ProductionOur kids will unleash the joy of the Christmas Spirit this Christmas season! On Sunday, December 11 at the 11:30 service, the Shepherd’s Gate Preschool, MOPS and Kids Quest kids will lead our congregationin worship as we proclaim the exciting news that Jesus is born.

PreschoolWe offer preschool from September-May. Our well-rounded program for three and four year olds provides a safe, nurturing Christian environment. Our curriculum focuses on developing the whole child spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually. Through Bible stories, prayers, songs and activities, we develop little disciples of Jesus Christ. Little MozartsThis is a dynamic, fun way to introduce your child to the world of music and piano. Develops better motor skills; improves coordination and timing. Increase their cognitive learning, reading and math ability. Helps toddlers express their feelings productively. Expands their imagination and ability to focus.
