  • The Poetry gameMy little game of poetry!

  • How the game worksSo this game is basically a game where you and a couple of other people collaborate together to make a poem. You can make it silly, goofy, or serious, your choice! If you dont understand, dont worry! Ill explain this game in steps.

  • Step #1Youll need a beginning topic for the first line of your poem.

And so, for now, just look outside your window and check the weather. Just take a nice glance. And how is it? Sunny? Cloudy? Raining? Well remember it!

  • Step #2Now that you have your topic, lets write the first line.

    1. One player is to write a silly start to the poem on a small piece of paper. Then that player hides their piece of paper.2. That player then tells the person next to him/her the last word of their line and only the last word.

(Be sure not to show anybody the line of the poem!)

  • Step #3Now that somebody know the first players last word, they also make up a silly sentence or line that ends with a word that rhymes with the previous persons word.

Say the first persons last word was rain, then the second person would need to create a line of the poem that ends with a word that rhymes with rain. Like pain or gain.

  • Step #4Now that the second line was made, that person goes and tells the next person their last word.

That new person then writes their line and tells the next person their word.(Make sure to make it silly or funny and keep it on the same topic!)

  • Step #5This goes on until everybody had a chance to add one line. But also, remember not to have repeats on the last word, and to not show anybody your line until the end.(Make sure its the same topic!)

  • Step #6Now that you have a line from everybody, you mix them up and place them in a random order.1. Open them up one at a time and read them out loud.2. Read them with enthusiasm and try to make it work out!

  • Step #7Heres an example of what couldve happened:

Person 1: Like a maniac that fell into a puddle,Person 2: people are flying around like beetle,Person 3: just be sure you get together and huddle,Person 4: there is always a way to befuddled.

  • Final StepReading them can be a fun activity, since the last words of each line rhyme, it should work out.

Have fun and try out multiple combinations and topics! Change the topic to try out new ideas!
