CLASS WILL

We, the class of 1957, to help the school bear the shock of

our departure, and recuperate from the shock left by ten years of

our presence, do hereby tearfully bequeathe to the coming Ninth

Grade a few of our most prized possessions.

Since there is never too much of a good thing, Behe leaves

her smile to Tina and Nancy leaves Penny the muffler from her

car, t hough we doubt that even that will keep Penny quiet. Julie

will proba bl y find a use for the composure which Barby now

leaves her , and, in case Wendy is ever quest ioned, Ang ie gi e s

her a licens e for ha c king . To make sure that Kay may continue

her career in Latin, Anna be lIe leaves her her copy of Cic ero' s

com plete works . Vin now makes offic ial the pre senta tion of her

de sk in the ninth grade room to Harriet White. L oui s e now leaves

her ballet shoes, which she finds no longer fit her to J 0 Turney

and Angie leaves all her popular music to Barby Quandt. Judy

l ea ves Ingrid a Ray of sunshine to help her to take pictures on

those dull days. Sandia presents Darcy with some of her extra

artistic talent. Speaking of talent, in case Vicky should lose

some of hers (which heaven forbid) Margie leaves her a dish

scraping machine. Anne Palms now leans down and hands AK a

few feet of her height, and Lolly sighs and leaves her extra

dimple to Bubbles, in case Bubbles should ever lose one of hers.

With one last sniff, SaIly l~aves her promin~nt feature to Barby

McCune and Courtney very confidentially l~aves Pam the secret

of her blond hair in case Pam should ever want to change. In the

same cQnfidential manner, Alice leaves ff anet her littl~ black

book and the responsibility of keeping the school up to date on

the la test $quam Lake gossip. Carolyn is sure that the racing

tips which she now leaves Carolyn will prove invaluable tQ her

future bets. Polyzoides sympathetically leaves Rubottom a dic

tionary of other exotic last names, and Liz Coffman leav'es a few of her brothers and sisters to add to Anne Sabin's collection.

Page 42: THE POTOMAC SCHOOL YEARBOOK · yearbook to Mrs. Price who has faithfully seen us through cwo of our most important years at school; first as unsUre seventh graders; and then as more

With one last "Rah! Rah! Rah!", "Tiger" Heuttig leaves Prince

ton to Cornell. And Patsy is sure that Barbara Lawrence will

appreciate the Milton banner she now offers. Anda leaves her

tried and true tranquilizer to Ginger. Liz D. thinks that with the

scissors she now bequeathes, Bettina will be able to keep her

hair trimmed out of her eyes, though Liz herself still has some

trouble doing that. Ann Morton leaves her familiar blush to

Whi teh ead, and Janie doubiousl y leaves her hair brush and extra

bobbie pins to Mary Broun. Bee speechlessly leaves her English

accent to Paulita, and Teddy gives a super-sized bottle of

vitamin Z to Dick to give her energy. ]0 leaves her field to the

one and only Gardner to weed while she's away at school. Robin

leaves Ruth her biography of Captain Video to add (0 he r already

good sized list of biographies. Plum leaves Peck a P lum so P eck

can peck a peck of plums. Celina bopes to get a Parker pen for

the twenty Kellogg box tops she now leaves Gina and Eleanor

wistfully leaves Bus "5" and its belongings to Maria. Roz leaves

Cindy a jar of her favorite "Super Fizzle Fazzle" Ski wax which

can be used for polishing bracelets when melted down. Susie,

who we hear is as good as any major leaguer leaves Gay a

baseball autographed by herself, and Susie Sweeney leaves a

model of her hairdo to Lolly in case she should ever want to cut

hers. Marcia now leaves Di another dead squirrel on which to

practice taxidermy and, finally, Kathy leaves Sand y her old

biology lab, which with a few changes she thinks could hold a

cyclotron.

And, as our departing token, we leave the fu ture ninth grade

a charm bracelet from which hangs the key to originality and a

four leaf clover for good luck, hoping that they, themselves will add many more!

THE EIGHTH GRADE

To us our life has been this school,

We've learned to obey each single rule?

The greatest and almighty class,

We them all by far surpass.

We entered this school in white and blue

And soon learned everything to do.

Miss Hubbard read us "Winnie - the- Pooh",

And we even learned to count to two.

At last we reached the Middle School,

Where in a corner we'd sit on a stool.

We all did learn a lot of spelling

And then our nouns from verbs were telling.

At last our cherished dream's come true.

We've reached the "Upper", our best to do.

Of facts we've quite an accumulation

And now we're discussing radiation!

Ubi est Rosa?

Don't step on her Toesa!

On to Algebra with W. and P.

Did they say that x equals 3?

We've stuck by each other through thick and thin

Constant companions we've always been.

We now thank Miss Archer whose been so dear

To all of us for this whole year!

The class of 'S7 joins the rest of the school in wishing Mrs. Reynolds "Bon Voyage!" She has gone to Italy after many years

of teaching at Potomac. We are sure she will have a good time.

We shall never forget what she has taught us and the good times

we have had with her, and we are sincerely grateful for all.
