Saturday, October 15: 10 am - 10 pm
Sunday, October 16: 10 am - 5 pm
To celebrate our amazing trunk show display,
join us for a fun filled weekend of sewing Hoop
Sisters, eating delicious foods, and playing fun
games. When you register for the event you will
be assigned a day and food item to bring for the
potluck meals. We ask you bring a copy of the
recipe to exchange with
others at the event. There will
be games and prizes
throughout the weekend.
Registration is $15 a day or
$40 for the entire weekend. Set up your
workspace once on Friday and you are ready for
the entire weekend.
We also have an online store available for
purchasing kits, notions, and machine accessories.
There are a ton of events scheduled over the next
four months. There’s not enough space to do
them justice so be sure to read through the
newsletter for all the details: (Hoop Sisters,
Notion Spotlight, Babylock Educator, and more,
oh my.) In the coming months we want to get
your input on our events for next Spring, so be
sure to watch facebook or our website for your
chance to vote and select some of our events and
classes.
Spring is usually the time of change, but this fall we
have a lots of exciting new changes. We have
removed the wall between the shop and the ―old
barber shop,‖ opening up the front of the store.
One move led to another and before you know it
we have a whole new look!
We are very excited to have our redesigned
website almost up and running. Make sure we have
your email address, so you’ll be among the first to
know when it’s live. The web address hasn’t
changed (www.rae-bonsewingcenter.com), but the
layout is completely new! Check it out for
information and color photos of all our classes.
Bring the gorgeous colors of fall into your
home early this season through ―Vividly
Autumn.‖ This free pattern is available at
Rae-Bon Sewing Center. It’s gorgeous out of batiks or would look beautiful
out of our new fall fabrics. Kits are available.

Quilts of Valor “My quilt isn’t another military medal to be placed in a box and sit on my shelf.
I was moved to tears.” ~SSgt RC, US Army, Iraq ‘05
Catherine Roberts began Quilts of Valor to provide all returning service men and women with a tangible
reminder of an American’s appreciation and gratitude. Combat troops who have been wounded or touched
by war are awarded this token of appreciation that unequivocally says, ―Thank you for your service, sacrifice,
and valor.‖ A Quilt of Valor is a generous lap-sized quilt (minimum of 55 X 65).
Join us for our Quilts of Valor sew day and let’s see how many quilts we can make! We will supply backing
fabric and a 25% discount on all fabric purchased for making a Quilt of Valor. Bring your sewing machine and a
dish to share for pot-luck lunch.

Youth Sewing Let’s Make a Quilt!
Julie Richardson Julie enjoys making small art quilts using the embellishing
machine to create randomly felted pieces. Wool roving, fibers,
sheer fabrics, and embellishments are all in her toolbox. She
begins by pulling colors from her stash and whatever
happens, happens! It’s fun! And sometimes if the goddess of
quilting is with her, she finds unexpected surprises in the
randomly created pieces.
Julie will demo her exciting techniques on the
embellisher and showcase some of her work. The
event will wrap up with a chance for you to test out
hand felting and the embellisher.
