Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am excited to be part of the forward matching in the history of the Redeemed

Christian Bible College, North America. We are grateful to God for what He is doing in

and through our faculty and students. At the Redeemed Christian Bible College, our

primary curriculum is the Bible; our specific content is the Word of God. We are

determined to hold on to these principles. At our college, students not only receive solid

Biblical teaching, they also experience the richness of the presence of the Holy Spirit in

their lives. Students from around world and from other ministries and churches come to

train at the college. Our staff and faculty ensure that every student receives the kind of

practical preparation needed for effective ministry.

HISTORY OF THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN BIBLE COLLEGE

The Redeemed Christian Bible College, North America was founded in the State of Maryland in September, 2001. As a Christian Bible College and Seminary, it provides a ministry of Christian education through classroom, online and correspondence studies on the Bible as well as Christian Counseling, Biblical Studies, Theology and Pastoral Training. The College is committed to the growth of the local church. Recognizing that the Bible is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work, The RCBC sets out to do its best in training Christian believers as Christ’s Ambassadors approved to be workmen and women who do not need to be ashamed to spread The Good News and who correctly handles the word of truth. There was a time in America when the Church was recognized for the significant educational responsibilities it shouldered for the people of America. As we went to sleep the responsibilities slipped away. It is time to recapture that mantle. MISSION STATEMENT

The Redeemed Christian Bible College was established to provide quality Christian

education, to men and women of God who:

1. Will study the promises of the Old Testament and the fulfillment in Christ of the

New Testament, thus learn to see the Biblical view of man created in the image of

God.

2. Boldly live Christ’s message in all they say and do.

3. Will be Christ’s Ambassadors to populate His Kingdom.

The primary curriculum of the College is the Bible; its specific content is the Word of

God, designed with academic requirements that produce students who are

knowledgeable, fully equipped, and committed to reaching the heart of man to do good.

We channel this training through our undergraduate and graduate programs of study.

1. The Bible is the Word of God

4. The Salvation of Man

a. The shed blood of Jesus Christ, grace through faith, believing in the heart

that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confessing that Jesus Christ is

Lord with the mouth, will result in man’s salvation. (Romans 3:21-30,

Romans 10:8-10)

b. Regeneration of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the New Birth

(Galatians 4:4-7)

5. Water Baptism is an ordinance of the church, symbolizing to the world that one

has died with Jesus and has also been raised with Him in resurrection power to

walk in newness of life. (Matt 28:19; Acts 10:47-48) symbolizing (Romans 6:4-

11; Ephesians 2:6)

6. The Lord’s Supper is an ordinance of the Church symbolizing the broke Body

and shed Blood of Jesus Christ as the New Covenant between God and Man. (1

Corinthians 11:24, 25, 28)

7. The evidence of the Infilling of the Holy Ghost which is the Promise of the

Father, is the physical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives

utterance, and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public

testimony and service after the new birth. (Acts 2:4; Acts 19:2, 6; Act 1:8; Acts

2:42; Matt 3:11; 1 Cor 12:7-11)

8. The Church is the Body of Christ, the dwelling place and home of God through

the Spirit. Each Believer born of God’s Spirit is an integral part of the general

assembly and the Church of the First born, which is written in Heaven. (Ephesians

1:22, 23; Ephesians 2:19, 22)

9. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that if they are saved

unto the resurrection of life, and that they who are lost unto the resurrection of

damnation (John 5:24, 28, 29)

10. In the atonement of Jesus and His Resurrection, deliverance from sickness,

disease, and mental torments is provided. These privileges are for everyone.

12. Tithe and Offering Regular payment of tithe and offering is obligatory because it

is God’s command (Malachi 3:8-12; Gen.14:19-20; Heb 7:2-5; 1 Cor 16:2; Matt

23:23)

13. Women in the Ministry. There is no scriptural prohibition concerning women

ministering in the church. (Acts 18:24-26; Acts 21:8, 9). Women are part of the

One Body of Christ, which is neither male nor female with gifts differing

according to the grace that is given to them. (Galatians 3:28; Romans 12:4-6)

14. Awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the great God and Savior JESUS

ACCREDITATION AND CERTIFICATION

The Redeemed Christian Bible College operates as an educational ministry of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, North America. The Redeemed Christian Church of God, North America is a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God International. The Redeemed Christian Bible College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission International (ACI) for Schools, Colleges and Theological Seminaries to award associates, bachelors, graduate and post-graduate degrees. ACI is an independent accrediting agency specializing in accrediting for Seminaries , Bible Colleges, and other specialized schools. ACI accredits over 300 schools in 35 of the United States and in five other countries. In accordance with Section 11-203 of the Education Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the Maryland Higher Education Commission has certified the Redeemed Christian Bible College & Seminary as a religious degree-granting institution.

TRANSFER OF CREDITS

The transferability of credits earned at The Redeemed Christian Bible College to another institution is at the discretion of the receiving institution. Students who plan to transfer to another institution are advised to contact the receiving institution for verification of transferability prior to beginning their studies at the RCBC.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Students must be committed to the absolute Lordship of Christ, through an ongoing relationship with Him, and by a desire to reach greater maturity in Him, in full obedience to His will. Students must be actively involved in a church and is a Christian.

A high school diploma, or its equivalent, for entrance into the undergraduate

program.

NOTICE OF NON-DISCRIMINATORY POLICY

The Redeemed Christian Bible College policies are in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (PL-88-353) and all regulations adopted pursuant to such title to the end that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, gender or national origin, be excluded from participation in, denied the benefit of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity. Furthermore, The Redeemed Christian Bible College does not discriminate against ethnic origin, or gender in administration of its educational policies, scholarship programs, or admission policies, nor with regard to access to, or treatment in its programs in respect to those with impaired vision, hearing, or physical mobility. CONFIDENTIALITY OF STUDENT RECORDS

The Redeemed Bible College provides confidentiality of student records. This policy is in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) as amended. At the discretion of the institution, may provide directory information, i. e. student name, address, telephone number, date and place of birth, major field of study, dates of attendance, degrees and awards received, the most recent previous educational agency or institution attended by the student and participation in officially recognized activities. Students may withhold directory information by notifying the registrar in writing.

STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

Due to Biblical demands of discipleship, it is expected that all students attending the RCBC will maintain the highest standards of conviction and conduct. Specific rules and guidelines are outlined in the RCBC Student Handbook. Each student will receive a copy of the handbook upon admission to the college.

TRANSFER STUDENTS

The Redeemed Christian Bible College welcomes transfer students with the desire to pursue their educational goals in Christian studies and who wish to transfer from an accredited or approved college. Official transcripts must be submitted directly to the RCBC from all institutions of learning attended after high school graduation. Transcript must indicate courses entered, in progress or completed, grade, and semester/quarter credit hours earned (as well as the accreditation of the college). Results of aptitude and other special tests taken and evidence of standing should also be indicated on the transcript. Since the RCBC is a Bible College, credits may also be given for specific classes, seminars, conferences and programs relating to Biblical topics. A maximum of 36 credits may be transferred at the Associate Degree level, 60 at the Bachelor Degree level. Transfer of credits at the Graduate level is granted at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs.

AUDIT STUDENTS

Students who wish to enroll on a non-credit basis are classified as audit students. Courses will appear on the student’s transcript, but will not receive credit. Audit students who enroll in a course and later decide to convert the course for credit shall file an academic petition within four weeks of the beginning of the semester and must be passing the course at the time of the request. Upon approval, the student shall pay the additional tuition and must submit all previous course assignments to their instructor by the sixth week of school.

LIFE EXPERIENCE CREDITS

The RCBC also recognizes the value of and accept certain Life Experience Credits. Any student who qualifies may be eligible for Advanced Standing through Life Experience Credit (up to a maximum of 15 semester hours of credit). When applying for admission, those students who desire advanced standing should submit a Life Experience Credit Application form and all supporting documents for a formal evaluation.

ACADEMIC ADVISING

Students who have academic questions are encouraged to consult with the Dean of Academic Affairs, Recruiter, or Registrar. It is advised that students keep copies of all their course enrollment forms to assist in academic advising and to safeguard the accuracy of student records.

GRADING SYSTEM.

If a student fails to submit the required course work during the grace period, the final grade given is recorded. Any contingent changes after seven days will be determined by the RCBC administration. Student is responsible for all fees. A student must have a 2.00 (C) average or higher to graduate as an undergraduate student. The following grades and notations are also used in the grading system of the Bible College:

AU Audit: Indicates that the student registered for the class on an

audit basis; normally indicates regular attendance in class and participation in discussion although not enrolled for credit. Since no grade is assigned, grade points and hours are not accumulated for courses audited.

I Incomplete: Represents a minimum of 70 percent of course work completed and is passing the course at the end of the term S Satisfactory: Represents successful completion of a course offered on a no credit basic. U Unsatisfactory: Represents failure to complete a course offered on a no credit Course must be repeated. W Withdrawal: Withdrawal from a course.

REPEATING A COURSE

A student who receives a grade of “F” in a required course must repeat the course in order to graduate. A student may elect to repeat any other course. When a course is repeated, the last grade points and credit hours earned replace the previous grade points and credit hours in computing the grade average. However, all grade entries on the transcript remain a part of the student’s permanent academic record. The student must indicate that it is a repeat course at the time of registering for the course.

COURSE WITHDRAWAL

Voluntary---A student who wishes to withdraw voluntarily during a semester shall meet the Registrar. The student must submit a letter of withdrawal and satisfy all financial obligations before withdrawal or they will not receive academic transcripts. Grades of WP or WF shall be placed on the student’s transcript for the courses in which the student was enrolled. Unauthorized---A student who leaves during a semester without officially withdrawing will receive a grade for the class, possibly an “F”. To avoid this, students should follow procedures for voluntary withdrawal. In exceptional circumstances such as a prolonged emergency, a student may be Administratively Withdrawn. In these cases, WP (withdraw passing) grades shall be placed on the student’s academic transcript for courses enrolled in that semester, unless the instructor specifies that WF (withdrawal failing) be posted.

GRADUATION POLICY

To qualify for graduation, a student must: Fulfill the academic requirements for the degree with a 2.00 © average or

higher—undergraduate degree, or 3.00 (B) –graduate degrees.

Fulfill all financial obligations thirty days before the graduation date.

Pay the graduation fee.

Have a graduation evaluation done by the Registrar’s Office one semester before the anticipated graduation.

TRANSCRIPT POLICY

A transcript contains all essential academic data as the course, grades and credits awarded, degree w/major, and graduation. Definition:

1. An Official Transcript has the Redeemed Christian College seal, date, and an appropriate signature for students who have attended this institution. Official transcripts cost $15.00 each. Official Transcripts can only be released upon receipt of a written request from the student.

2. An Unofficial Student Transcript is an unofficial record of grades obtained while a student is attending the RCBC. It is issued to the student and has the appropriate signature and is dated without the College seal. When all coursework has been completed and all financial obligations are fulfilled, one (1) Unofficial Transcript will be available at no charge. All subsequent Unofficial Transcripts are $10.00 each.

Official or Unofficial Transcripts will not be issued to a student who fails to meet all financial obligations to the RCBC.

STUDY PROGRAMS

Starting September, 2008, the undergraduate, graduate and specialty course programs will be available online and onsite (at our Distance Education Centers located at our parishes all over the USA.). The School of Disciples is also available online.

Undergraduate

Declaring A Major

A Major must be declared at the time of enrollment or within 3 months of enrollment. When a major is declared, the student must complete 30 credit hours of studies specific to the major. Major specific hours can be fulfilled through transfer credits. For example, a student may transfer in 30 hours in counseling/psychology to earn a major in Christian Counseling. In such cases, the student may be required to complete some courses at The Redeemed Christian College that are specific to the emphasis. For example, a counseling student who has 30 hours in counseling from another institution may need to take classes specific to “Christian” counseling to integrate theology and psychology.

Undergraduate Degree Requirements

The core undergraduate degree requirements consist of 36 credit hours. These credits give the student a strong foundation in Biblical truth and provide basic Biblical understanding for future ministry work. This is the general core foundation required for the Associate and Bachelors degree. Per the completion of the core requirements a Diploma in Biblical Studies is awarded to denote that the core requirements have been met.

Diploma

This program is designed with basic Christian foundations of Biblical truth and sufficient Biblical understanding to assist the believer in the various ministries of the church. The program requires 36 credit hours to graduate. The program is required if a student intends to progress to the Associate level.

Associate Degrees

The Associate Degree is a 60 credit hour (two year) degree program. The RCBC awards the Associate of Biblical Studies and the Associate of Theological Studies depending on the area of focus in the student’s choice of electives (Bible or Theology). The student must complete the Diploma of Biblical Studies in order to receive the Associate Degree. The student must be actively involved in supervised ministry to complete the Practicum component of the degree. This Practicum must be verified in writing to the Registrar’s Office.

Bachelor’s Degrees

The Bachelors Degree is a 120 credit hour (four year) degree program. The RCBC awards the Bachelor of Religious Studies (B. R. S.), the Bachelor of Theology (Th. B), the Bachelor of Christian Education (B. C. Ed), the Bachelor of Evangelism (B. Ev.), and the Bachelor of Christian Counseling (B. C. C). All of these require the completion of a 36-credit hour Diploma of Biblical Studies (which is usually completed at the Associate level). For all of these degrees the requirement of the completion of a 30-credit hour emphasis/concentration must be met. A student must declare which degree program he/she is pursuing at the time he/she makes application to the college. Any change in degree program after acceptance to the college will result in a re-evaluation fee of $25.00. A request to change degree program must be made in writing to the Registrar’s Office. If no formal request is made, a student will graduate with the degree in which he/she originally enrolled. Students receiving a Bachelor’s degree are eligible for further study at the Masters level. If a student is transferring credits to the RCBC from another college, the credits may transfer even if they were in different discipline resulting in the student graduating with more than the minimum 120 hours. The student must complete the 36-hour Diploma of Biblical Studies as required by the RCBC, and the 30 credit required for their emphasis. Students seeking a second bachelor degree must complete a minimum of additional 30 credit hours. Before a concentration is declared, the 30-hour concentration must be fulfilled.

Diploma in Theological Studies

This program is designed with basic Christian foundations of Biblical truth and sufficient Biblical understanding to assist the believer in the various ministries of the church. This program is required if a student intends to progress to the Associate level or for ordination as a pastor. Associate Degree in Theology This program is built from the Certificate of Biblical Studies. This is a course of study with a theological scope gained through specific Systematic and Practical Theology studies. Students receiving this degree are prepared for further study at the Bachelor level. Bachelor in Theology This program is derived from the Associate Degree. This program is designed to give the student an in-depth study of the models, paradigms, Bible-centered therapy, grief therapy and communication therapy related to Christian counseling. This program will equip the pastor, Christian leader, and laypersons to administer divine principles for effective, God honoring counseling ministry. Students receiving this degree are eligible for further study at the Master’s level, provided admissions criteria has been met. Associate Degree or Equivalent 60 credits Emphasis Requirements (30):

THE TRIMESTER

A part-time student may take two to three classes per trimester. A full-time student and non-immigrant students must take four classes per trimester. ADMISSIONS INFORMATION Admission Policy. In considering application, the Admissions Board reviews the applicant complete file (i.e. academic records, recommendation, and personal information). All applicants will be considered for enrollment regardless of race, sex, national or ethnic origins. Each applicant will be assessed according to his/her academic background and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The applicant will be notified of the decision of the Committee. A certificate or degree from RCBC is not a license or ordination, although, it is a tool to aid in this process. Each denomination or non-denominational organization has its own set of guidelines for licensing and ordaining its ministers. Admission Requirements. Acceptance will be granted to the student after evaluation of submitted documentation. The appropriate fees must accompany the application package. Full admissions into a program will be granted once student’s application and supporting documents has been approved. Applicants should have substantial experience in Christian church ministry and demonstrate competency in Biblical studies. The following requirements apply: Master of Theological Studies.

• A Bachelors Degree in a religious area of study, (i.e., Religious Studies, Theology, Christian Ministry, etc.) or a Bachelors Degree in a secular subject (i.e., Math, Business, Computer Science, etc.)

Master of Divinity

• A Master Degree in a religious area of study, (i.e., Religious Studies, Theology, Christian Ministry, etc.) from an accredited college or university.

Doctor of Ministry

• A Master of Divinity Degree (or the equivalent) from an accredited or otherwise approved college, seminary or university.

ADMISSION CLASSIFICATIONS. Regular Student – A student who meets all entrance requirements and is pursuing a certificate or degree program. Non-Regular Student – A student who desires to take only a limited number of courses for credit, but who is not interested in enrolling in a certificate or degree program. Non-Regular students must follow the application procedures. Auditor – A student permitted to enroll in a course without being required to fulfill the normal course requirements in that course when it is taken for credit. No credit is granted. Audited courses will be recorded on the official transcript. Abbreviated admissions credentials are required of those students who are only auditing courses. TRANSFER STUDENTS. The Redeemed Christian Bible College & Seminary welcomes students desiring to pursue their educational goals in Christian studies and who wish to transfer from another accredited or approved college. However, each course is individually evaluated before acceptance to ensure that it meets the requirements of similar offerings at The RCBC&S. The decision to accept or reject transfer of credits rests solely with RCBCBC&S. Official transcripts (certified and sealed) must be submitted directly to the college from all institutions of learning attended after high school graduation. Transcripts must indicate courses registered for, courses in progress, courses completed, grade and trimester/quarter credit hours earned (as well as the accreditation of the college). Results of aptitude and other special tests taken and evidenced of standing should also be indicated on the transcript. Since RCBC&S is a Bible college, credits may also be given for specific classes, seminars, conferences and programs relating to Biblical topics. A maximum of 30 credits may be transferred at the Associate Degree level, a total of 60 credits at the Bachelor Degree level. The final decision on transferring credits will be made, put in writing, and sent to the registrar for inclusion in the student’s folder. The registrar will then give the student a timely response as to the acceptance/rejection of transfer of credits. Once the registrar receives the certified transcript, he/she will forward it to the Dean who will work closely with the members of the appropriate department in making the final decision on transfer of credits. Only work competed with a “C” or better is transferable. The transfer student should note that every student receiving a degree from RCBC&S, regardless of the number of transfer credits must complete the 30 hours of core courses.

REGISTRATION All students are required to register for classes in the RCBC&S Admissions Office. Students not registering during regular registration will be charged a late registration fee of $25.00. All students enrolled in classes assume responsibility of paying his/her account in full each trimester. TESTING PROGRAMS All applicants to the college are required to take placement tests in Math and English. Students whose scores are not acceptable will be required to complete Math and English fundamental course work prior to enrolling in college level English and Math course./ All students enrolled in the college will be required to take a battery of Bible content tests developed by the American Association of Bible Colleges upon entering the institution as well as exiting the institution as graduates. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. Terms and Conditions for Applying. The RCBC & S is presently not authorized to issue SEVIS Form I-20. It is hoped that it will in due course of time be able to do so. ACADEMIC INFORMATION RCBC&S is primarily an evening college designed to serve full-time Christian workers and others who have full-time jobs during the day. Therefore, RCBC&S offers most of its curriculum during morning and evening hours. All certificates and degrees are earned primarily through the evening programs. Evening classes are held Monday through Friday 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Saturday morning classes are held 9:30 a. m – 12:30p.m. The regular academic year programs at RCBC&S are comprised of three trimesters, 12 weeks each. Summer school is eight weeks. Definitions of Terms Used in Describing the Academic Program

Credit Hour – All scholastic work is measured according to the trimester credit hour. This is the equivalent of one class of 180 minutes per week (plus preparation) or two laboratory hours per week (plus preparation) for 13 weeks. Curriculum – The pattern of courses leading to a specific educational objective. These are required sequential offerings, which meet an educational objective. Grade-Point Average (GP A)– The GPA is the average determined by dividing a student’s total quality points by the total number of trimester hours of credit that he or she has attempted. Quality points for one course are computed by multiplying the number of credit hours for a course by the student’s grade as measured on a four-point scale. The total quality points earned by a student are computed by adding together the quality points in each of the courses attempted. Prerequisite – A course which must be completed prior to admission into another course. Student Classification – Division of students into classes based on the number of credit hours completed. Transfer of Credit – Applying credit hours earned at one educational institution to the completion of an academic program at another institution. The rule which applies to most transfers is that the grade earned in a transferred course must be “C” or above, and the course must be similar to a course offered in the college to which the transfer is made. CURRICULUM PHILOSOPHY. RCBC&S degree programs are structured to give every student a thorough background in Bible and doctrine. Thus every student regardless of area of concentration is a Bible major. The curriculum also provides students with complimentary foundation in general education in order that they might have a comprehension of the history language, thought, and expression of past and present world cultures. This course of study examiners leadership on all levels as it holds in dialogue the practice of ministry and academic theological reflection; so that the two are mutually illumining. This course will work in tandem with other critical issues facing leadership, diversity, and workforce management within the current changing Christian climate. AEL is purposed on the conviction that the critical points of transformation in the church’s history are vital to its survival. Thusly, AEL must be paralleled with management, structure, and consistency. AEL will force advancing leaders to urgently re-think our theological understanding of total ministry while promoting the implications of theological reconstruction.

CED607 Advanced Christian Education

This study will examine, evaluate, and afford the student with practical methods of classroom instruction and preparation of instructional materials with specific application from biblical examples. Gained

knowledge will allow the student to be effective in writing behavioral objectives that include motivational teaching techniques, improved communication skills, classroom discipline, and teaching decorum. It will provide valuable teaching techniques for learning to all ages with greater emphasis in the leadership educational arena; it integrates basic principles and practices of organizing, administering and supervising the consolidated educational ministry of the church.

MDC606 Comparative Therapies This course will introduce the student to numerous counseling models. The course will cover four major categories to include Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Cognitive/behavioral, and Family systems. The student will become familiar with several theories associated with these four categories: Psychoanalysis, Adlerian, Jungian, Person-centered, Existential, Gestalt, Behavioral, Cognitive, Integrative, Structured family systems and Strategic family systems. Additionally, this course will contrast these theories with the MACCD model of individual, marital and family counseling.

MDC607 Mood Disorders This course is designed to introduce students to the etiology and dynamics of selected disorders. Mood disorders; specifically those disorders related to anxiety and depression that are used as models for conceptualizing advanced counseling theory and therapy. Students will explore the basic treatment procedures used in Christian counseling and discipleship, and be introduced to diagnosis and the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM IV TR). Students will also develop research presentations on specific mood disorders.

MDP601 Church Administration This course will discuss how to select, train, evaluate, support, and mentor those involved in the administration of the church. It will also discuss leadership development, servant leadership, and effective executive practices within the church.

MDP602 Pastor, Church, and Law

This course provides students a clear understanding of the major laws affecting churches and clergy. This course examines the role of the Law and the Pastor, Law and the Church, and the relation of Church and State.

THE501 Old Testament Theology

This is a comprehensive course study of the Old Covenant Books, Students will explore the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings in an effort to understand and make application of the principles, practices, and purposes of God’s Divine Plan for humanity as is outline in the Old Testament. This in depth study is a systematic chapter-by-chapter review with great emphasis placed on the spiritual principles that shall govern the relationship of creation with the Creator. This study exposes devotion and apostasy, which makes known God’s repeated deliverance of Israel during times of national disobedience while providing great examples of heroes of the faith to all believers.

THE501 New Testament Theology This is a comprehensive course of study of the New Covenant Books with much reflection on the history of the Old Covenant; while emphasizing the greater works of the fulfillment of the New Covenant. This course includes a review of doctrine, prophecy, and the practice that shall govern the life of the Church and the Christian. This survey covers the Lord’s ministry, supernatural working, the life and missionary journeys of Paul, lessons of law and grace with a care review and analysis of the Epistles through end times. This course provides clear insight into the journey of the believer and the promise of our Savior to humanity while illuminating the greater insight of close relationship among the believers of then and the pattern of practice expected presently.

THE503 Advanced Hermeneutics This is comprehensive course study of the art and science of Biblical interpretation with great emphasis placed on correct understanding and application of the text. This course exposes the student of the Bible with the tools and skills of exegesis and application without minimizing the message and the methods of Christ and His Word. The study is one that educates and informs as it provides insight into the history of the church, the church fathers and the stability of the church’s foundation through the only safe, sound, and sensible approach to understanding the Word of God.

THE504 Advanced Apologetics.

This is a comprehensive course of study on the art and defense of the Christian faith for proper presentation and delivery of the Word of God to a nation in great need. This study provides students of the Word of God with tools and practical understanding to approach, application, and delivery of the same. This course is systematically characterized to promote a greater understanding of God’s love for humanity while

elevating the recipients’ knowledge base on the work, the will, and the ways of God that has provided for the salvation of His creation. This course of study exposes myths, bridges hope, and fosters stability within the body of Christ.

THE509 Christian Theology This is a comprehensive course of study that examines sound doctrine and exposes dogmas that plague the body of Christ. This foundational course provides students of the Word with practical and purposeful understanding of creation, recreation, and the restoration of humanity to its Creator. It examines the role and the rights of the Church to exercise dominion over the enemy through the power of God’s Word based on the decree of God and His mandates. This course of study not only invalidates all other living world religions, but it proves beyond doubt that Jehovah is the only true and living God. THE507 Biblical Language (Greek) This course of study is an in-depth review and analysis of the original manuscripts and language of the early recipients of the Word of God for practical understanding and application for contemporary Christians. This comprehensive study examines the tools, techniques, and the awesome values of inspiration and preservation of the truths of God’s Word. This study enables students of the Word to account for the customs, culture, and communication styles of the original recipients in order to unlock the great progressive truths of revelation to a present and future generation. This systematic study presents the value of syntax, analysis, exegesis, and historical cultural emphasis that shape the written truths with power, passion, and purpose.

THE801/802 Practical Theology I and II This course of study is designed to provide students of the Word with an in-depth foundation in the doctrines of the Christian faith. It is based upon the Scripture as the ultimate source of authority where the doctrines of the Bible are evaluated through the systematic examination and integration of relevant Scriptures with consideration given to doctrinal interpretations throughout Church history. The goal of the course is a greater acquisition of knowledge of the theology that is founded upon the Word of God that prompts the student to a greater individual and collective theological development.

This two-part course will explore the nature, methodology, and rationale of Christian theology through an advanced integration of Revelation, both general and special, inspiration, canonicity, and illumination of Scripture. The student will advance his/her understanding concerning the doctrine of God to include His existence, attributes and Trinitarian nature. The combined course will incorporate valuable information regarding God’s eternal plan including His kingdom purpose and redemptive focus; His work of creation and continued activity within creation; angels, both good and evil; their origin, present state, work, and destiny. This course will culminate with a study of creation of mankind in God’s image, human nature, the fall and the effect of sin upon humanity, and human life in relation to the divine institutions of the family and civil government. This two part advanced study will examine theological issues in the areas of Theology Proper, Anthropology, Hematology, Christology, Soteriology, and Eschatology.

THE803 Field Education

It is designed to prepare students of the Bible for independent research and teaching affiliation in the fields of religious and theological studies. The Field Education places special emphasis on enabling students to be effective practitioners, clergymen, and or teachers in the study of religion and theology. Upon completion, each student participant will use acquired abilities as university, college, or seminary scholar-teachers while others will be prepared for practical theological assignments. Field Education will assist graduates in finding vocational fulfillment within the context of religious organizations, churches, institutes, counseling centers, and government agencies.

OLICIES CLASSIFICATION OF STUDENTS. The student body is divided academically into four classes: freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior. Students are classified academically on the following basis:

Full-time Students Those carrying 10 or more trimester hours. Part-time Students Those carrying less than 10 hours. Probationary Students Those whose academic loads have been reduced

because of a deficient grade-point average. COURSES AND CREDITS.

Course content is based on textbook materials, an analysis of material in each chapter and material presented by the teacher in class. Grades are based on collateral reading, written reports, and examinations in the form of objective, multiple choice, and essay questions. The student is expected not only to acquire and recall facts, but also to relate those facts to personal experiences and Christian responsibilities. COURSE WITHDRAWAL Voluntary – A student who wishes to withdraw voluntarily during a trimester shall meet with the Registrar. The student must submit a letter of withdrawal and satisfy all financial obligations before withdrawal or they will not receive academic transcripts. A grade of “W” shall be placed on the student’s transcript for the courses in which the student was enrolled. The procedure for adding or dropping courses is as follows: 1. Secure Withdraw form from the Registrar’s Office 2. Secure Instructor’s approval on the Withdraw form. 3. Return Withdraw form to the Registrar’s Office.

If a student drops a course but fails to secure the proper permissions, he/she will receive a permanent grade of “F” for the course. If a student takes a course and fails to register for it on the official registration form, no credit will be received for the course. Hence, a faculty member cannot add, drop, or withdraw a student from a class or from the Institution.

WITHDRAWAL FROM THE INSTITUTION Should it become necessary for a student to withdraw from Seminary, the student must report to the Director of Enrollment Management at that time and complete the specified procedures. If a student leaves colleges and fails to withdraw officially, it will result in an “F” grade notation on the student’s permanent record. A student may withdraw from the College (all classes in which they are enrolled) up to and including the last day of classes prior to the beginning of the final examination period. FINAL EXAMINATION. Examination for courses shall always be within the College class rooms; and executed on the specific days that are catalogued. Failure to attend final examinations as prescribed may mean that the student will retake the course when next offered by RCBC&S. Examinations taken other than at the regularly scheduled time, either early or late, impose an added burden on the faculty. Any student desiring to take an unscheduled examination must obtain the permission of the professor and may be subject to a fee per examination. REPEATING A COURSE A student who receives a grade of “F” in a required course must repeat the course in order to graduate. A student may elect to repeat any other course. When a course is repeated, the last grade points and credit hours earned replace the previous grade points and credit hours in computing the grade average. However, all grade entries on the transcript remain a part of the student’s permanent academic record. The student must indicate that it is a repeat course at the time of registering for the course. CHANGE OF GRADE Students who believe that a grade has been issued in error must contact the instructor. In the event that a grade is to be changed, the instructor will submit a Change of Grade Form to the Enrollment Management Office. GRADE POINT SYSTEM A trimester credit hour is earned by competing one 180-minute period of class per week for one trimester, which is 13 weeks. The quality points of the grade earned in the course are multiplied by the credit value for each course. The total number of credits for which the student was enrolled divides the sum. The resulting number is the GPA (grade point average). The student’s cumulative grade point average (GPA) is based on the sum of all quality points earned divided by the sum of all quality hours attempted. The College follows a 4.0 grade point system and requires a 3.0 GPA for graduation.

A student must have a 2.00 (C) average or higher to graduate as an undergraduate student. The following grades and notations are also used in the grading system of the Bible College: AU Audit: Indicates that the student registered for the class on an

audit basis; normally indicates regular attendance in class and participation in discussion although not enrolled for credit. Since no grade is assigned, grade points and hours are not accumulated for courses audited.

GRADE REPORTS Grade reports are issued at the end of the trimester. In compliance with Federal Statute, Public Law 93-380, cited as the Educational Amendments of 1973, Section 438, Protection of the Rights and Privacy of Parents and Students, all reports of grades are mailed to the student at the address indicated on the Admission Application. Errors on the grade report other than grade errors should be reported to the Registrar within two weeks of receiving the grade report. The student’s copy of the grade report will be mailed within three weeks after the completion o f the trimester. HONORS Graduation honors will be granted to students who attain cumulative grade point averages as listed: Summa Cum Laude, 3.80 and Magna Cum Laude, 3.60. ACADEMIC PROBATION The status of any student whose cumulative grade point average drops below 3.0 will be changed to probationary. Any probationary student who fails to raise his/her cumulative grade point average over the next three (3) trimesters is ineligible for continued study in the degree program. The student may request permission to continue study as a non-regular student. The student who brings up his/her cumulative average to the standards listed below over the next three (3) trimesters of work will be restored to regular status. The student who fails to meet the above requirement will not be re-admitted to the degree program. Any student who has a question about his/her status may appeal to the administration for reconsideration. ACADEMIC STANDING. The student must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 each trimester.

1. Academic Warning – An academic warning notice will be placed on the student’s trimester grade report that his/her academic performance is below 3.0 for one trimester.

2. Academic Probation – An academic probation notice will be placed on the

student’s trimester grade report that his/her academic performance is below 3.0 for than one trimester.

3. Academic Dismissal – The student should expect to be dismissed from RCBC&S

when cumulative GPA falls below 3.0 for more than three (3) trimesters. Students dismissed for low academic achievement may appeal the decision to the Committee of Academic Affairs or they may reapply for admission after a period of one academic year. Applicants for readmission need to supply evidence of successful work in the future at RCBC&S

ACADEMIC LOAD In determining the academic load to be carried, students must use self-discipline and good judgment based on their previous academic records. COURSE LOAD LIMITATIONS A full-time graduate student enrolled in twelve (10) or more hours during any one trimester. Students, who desire to take more than twelve (10) credit hours, must obtain the approval of the Academic Dean. Only students in good academic standing will be approved to carry more than twelve (10) credits during any one trimester. ABSENCES Class attendance is of paramount importance; and excessive absences will affect the final grade. COURSE CANCELLATIONS. Although the college will endeavor to hold all courses scheduled, it reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient enrollment. TRANSCRIPTS Student transcripts are kept on file in the Office of Records. A copy of the transcript includes only the academic record accumulated by National Bible College and Seminary. Money orders should be made payable to The Redeemed Christian Bible College &Seminary. Copies of transcripts furnished from other institutions become the property of the Institution and will not be furnished for other purposes. All transcripts requests must be made by students and must be in writing. Transcripts will not be issued for students who have outstanding fees or fines. Transcripts will take up to five (5) business days to process.

Definitions:

1. An Official Transcripts has The Redeemed Christian Bible College and Seminary seal, date, and an appropriate signature for students who have attended this institution. Official transcripts cost $7.00 each for all degrees. Official Transcripts can only be released upon receipt of a written request from the student.

2. An Unofficial Student Transcript is an unofficial record of grades obtained while a student is attending RCBC&S. It is issued to the student and has the appropriate signature and is dated without the college seal. When all coursework has been completed and all financial obligations are fulfilled, one (1) Unofficial Transcript will be available at no charge. All subsequent Unofficial Transcripts are $5.00 each.

PRIVACY OF STUDENT’S RECORDS.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of the 1974 was enacted by Congress to protect the privacy of education records, to establish the right for students to inspect and review their educational records, and to provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data through informal and formal hearings. The privacy of all student records is observed at RCBC&S. No information may be released to the public without the consent of the student. Members of the administration, faculty or counseling staff may have access to student records and then only for educational, administrative or statistical purposes. Students have the right to file complaints with the Family Education Rights Privacy Act Office (FREPA) in Washington, D.C. concerning alleged failure by the college to comply with the Act. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS. To be recommended for a certificate or degree, the student must satisfy the following conditions:

1. The completion of the prescribed program with a passing grade in each course, and with an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better.

2. The evidence of genuine Christian faith and a consistent testimony. 3. Settlement of all financial obligations to the school. 4. Submission of a completed “Application for Graduation” as outlined on the

academic calendar of the year the student plans to graduate. 5. Master of Religious Education – the student must have completed a minimum of

30 credits hours of required studies 6. Master of Divinity – the student must have completed a minimum of 90 credit

hours of required. The student must write and defend a Master Thesis. 7. Doctor of Ministry – the student must have completed a minimum of 30 credit

hours of required studies. Students must write and defense a Doctoral Dissertation 8. The student must meet the internship or practicum, if the curriculum requires one. 9. Time allotment for Degree completion-

o A student enrolled in the Master of Theological Studies program is allowed 2 years to complete the program. In the event of a change in major, this may be an extended administrative approval.

o A student enrolled in Master of Divinity program is allowed 4 years to

complete the program. In event of a change in major, this may be an extended administrative approval.

o A student enrolled in Doctor of Ministry program is allowed 3 years to

complete the program. In the event of a change in the major, this may be an extended administrative approval.

o Any student dropping out for more than one year will be re-admitted under

the new catalog.

10. Variance from Stated Requirements. In special cases, certain course substitution may be made for required courses. For any deviation from stated requirements for graduation, a petition must be filed with the Vice-President or Academic Dean. If approved, a copy of the petition will be placed in the student’s file.

GRANTING DEGREES AND COMMENCEMENT

The annual commencement convocation is held at the end of the spring trimester. Students who complete degree requirements the preceding trimesters will be invited to participate in the spring commencement exercise. STUDENT LIFE

STUDENT BODY

The Redeemed Christian Bible College & Seminary has more than 100 students enrolled to further their education and build the kingdom of God. Our students consist of pastors, ministers, leaders, laypersons, evangelists, missionaries, and teachers. Our students come from various independent and denominational churches. RCBC&S is primarily an evening institution designed to serve full-time Christian workers and others who have full-time jobs during the day. Therefore, RCBC&S offers most of its curriculum during the evening hours. Although RCBC&S is primarily an evening institution, a number of classes are offered during the day.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION.

The Student Government Association consists of students who have been appointed/elected for three primary purposes: to listen intently for the specific needs of the student body; to channel such information steadily to the administration and faculty; and to convert such information into effective action. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION All graduates and certificate recipients as well as former students who have earned at least Certificate of Biblical Studies are designated as Alumni of The Redeemed Christian Bible College and Seminary. The RCBC&S Alumni Association, under the leadership of the Association President. CHRISTIAN SERVICE The Christian Service Department, under the supervision of the Director of Student Affairs, provides an opportunity for students to develop Christian leadership and spiritual ministry. Everything is done to ensure that students will receive the maximum degree of benefit and fulfillment from personal involvement in various types of practical Christian work and community service throughout the Washington area. CAMPUS AND BUILDINGS Main Campus: The National Bible College and Seminary is situated on 14.95 acres of land located in Fort Washington, Maryland. The college is connected to the National Church of God. The College is surrounded by a suburban residential community, which is accessible by public transportation. This building is the center of activity for the National Bible College and Seminary. It houses the library, two (2) floors of classroom space, the bookstore, the student computer lab, and the student lounge. Library: Located in the Main Campus Building, the Library provides a variety of resources. It contains a growing collection of excellent resources for reference, research, and circulation. The holdings are arranged on open shelves according to the Dewey Decimal classification system.

HEALTH SERVICE

Students are encouraged to secure medical services when necessary from their own physicians. These consultations are entirely at the student’s expense. Special items, such as the cost prescriptions, hospitalization, ambulance service, x-rays, operating room

expense, dental work, surgery, special nursing or special care for students with contagious diseases are also paid by the student, if not covered by health insurance. The services of Washington’s many fine hospitals are available in an emergency. Students are required, if they do not have hospitalization insurance, to obtain such before entering school. Students should meet this requirement by purchasing health insurance coverage of their choice. STUDENT HANDBOOK At the beginning of each school year, new students will receive a copy of The Redeemed Christian Bible College & Seminary Student Handbook. When the Student Handbook is revised, students may obtain a revised copy. DRESS STANDARDS Moderation in the manner of dress is a safe guide for RCBC&S students. Casual dress is acceptable in the classroom so long as it is neat and modest. Students are to dress appropriately and in good taste at all times. STUDENT SERVICES COUNSELING SERVICES When a student is accepted into the certificate, Associate or Bachelor’s program, a faculty advisor is assigned to him/her. The advisor is to guide, assist, and to counsel the student throughout his academic program. BOOKSTORE The bookstore operates as a service to the students to supply them with textbooks and necessary materials. The cost of books and supplies is not included in the registration fee.

LIBRARY AND RESOURCES CENTER The Library and Resources Center (LRC) located in the Main Campus Building, serves students, faculty, and staff. It is a vital part of the educational program at RCBC&S. The LRC offers audio/visual materials, cassettes, videotapes, books, and periodicals.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES: The finance Office handles all financial matters, such as tuition, reimbursements, and fee payment. The Office of the Provost handles all student admissions and academic records.

STUDENT PARKING All student vehicles must be parked in the parking lot outside of The Redeemed Christian Bible College & Seminary campus to letter supervises security. HANDICAP ACCESS AND USE RCBC&S makes every attempt to assist students with handicaps. All classrooms and library facilities are handicap accessible. The building that houses the administrative and faculty offices are also handicap accessible. Handicap parking is posted for convenience and is strictly enforced. Classroom tables provide easy wheelchair access. Restrooms near the classroom and library areas are also handicap accessible. SCHOOL CLOSING RCBC&S shall conduct business as usual on every scheduled day, except during extraordinary circumstances when weather or other conditions make it necessary to close the college. The determination to close the institution shall be made by the Provost or designee. In the event of severe weather conditions in the morning, information regarding the status of classes will be made available to and broadcasted by, pubic media and our phone system. In the event of severe weather condition developing during the day, a decision to close RCBCSwill be made and communicated by 7.00 a.m. for day classes and 2.00p.m for night classes, when possible. The appropriate announcements will be made using our phone system and the public media.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION Payment of Account. At the time of registration, the student will pay one third of the full tuition. The remaining payments are due in two installments at the first of each month. All classes must be paid to full by the end of each trimester. Students who pay in full at registration will receive a ten percent (10%) discount, to be applied immediately. Students who are receiving tuition assistance from a third party (employer, church, etc.) must bring an official statement from the source at the time of registration stating the level of assistance. It is the student’s responsibility to see that payment is made by the due date. Textbooks Textbooks may be purchased through the bookstore. Payment for textbooks must be made in full at the time of purchase. Payment Plan At the time of registration the student will pay one third of the full tuition. The remaining payments are due in two installments at the first of each month. All classes must be paid in full by the end of each trimester. Returned Checks and Late Payments. A returned check is any check written to The Redeemed Christian Bible College &Seminary that is returned due to insufficient or stopped payment. A returned check fee of $30.00 and any late fees due will be applied to the account for each check that is returned. Checks are deposited only once. If your account has two returned checks, all remaining payments must be made by cash, money order. If your account has three late payments, we reserve the right to ask you to pay your account balance for the year in full.

Graduate Fees:

All fees associated with graduation must be paid in full by the first Monday in May whether the candidate receives the degree in person or in absentia. Graduation fees include cap and gown. Graduation fees are non-refundable.

Refund Policy: Any student who withdraws from courses, the College, or Seminary in writing and whose withdrawal is officially approved may receive a refund for tuition and course related fees as follows:

- 100% if dropped before the first week of the trimester

- 90% if withdrawal is before the end of the first week of the trimester

- 80% if withdrawal is before the end of the second week of the trimester

- 70%if withdrawal is before the end of the third week of the trimester. There are no refunds after the third week of the trimester. All refunds will be paid to the student, 30 days after check has cleared the bank. Cost Adjustments. The NBC&S reserves the right to adjust tuition and other fees whenever it is deemed necessary. Finance Office Hours The Finance Office hours are Monday through Friday from 7. 30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m., and from 3.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Thursday from 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. There are some days the Finance Office may not be open, such as school holidays and some school closures.
