VISIT TO THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE
Seventeen residence scholars belonging to northeast part of India were invited by Mr. Robin HIbu (IGP from NE to
work on the Rashtrapati Bhawan) to visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan on 1st Feb, 2018. Over 300 people from NE states
were present from Delhi and NCR. Rashtrapati Bahwan is one of the largest presidential palaces in the world with
130 hectares (320 acres of land) and constructed in 1912. It was a unique opportunity to witness the magnificent
architecture which consist of 23 living rooms, massive pillars, huge chandeliers, beautiful artworks in the ceiling, pic-
ture of freedom fighters, canvases made by world famous artists and souvenirs from all over India. The overall expe-
rience was indescribable, fascinating and mesmerizing and at the same time it sharpened their knowledge about
India and its history. VISIT TO R K KHANNA STADIUM
On 7th Feb, 2018 few junior scholars from the residences visited R K Khanna stadium, Delhi to watch the spectacular
match of tennis between India and China in Fed Cup Asia-Oceania group -1 tennis tournament. Ankita Raina who
represented India won the match with a score of 6-3 and 6-2, defeating the Chinese player, Lin Zhu. Our school moti-
vate our young Genesians to excel in their field of choice whether sports or academics.
STUDENT EXCHANGE FROM FRANCE
Under student exchange program, our school
hosted Evariste Roy Barman, a student of grade
10 from Lycee de Vallee de Cheuvreuse, Bourg-
la- Reine, France. He stayed at our residence
from 12th Feb to 2nd March, 2018. We found
him as a vibrant learner, ready to immerse him-
self in new culture to create an unbreakable
bond. Visits to historical places of Delhi and the
nearby areas like Lotus Temple, Qutab Minar
and Taj Mahal enabled him to learn about the
Indian culture as well as fortified his ideas to
promote exchange programs to India.

AUTO EXPO—THE MOTOR SHOW 2018
A group of 16 scholars escorted by two teachers from the residences visited The Auto Expo at The India Expo Mart on the 14th Feb, 2018. The show was a massive showcase of cars and bikes from top brands and the response to the show was immense even on the last day of the show. There were high end cars ranging up till ₹ 2-3 crores in the expo and electric and small cars ranging as low as ₹ 1 lakh. The best part of the show was the vintage car section where the organisers had showcased priceless and rare cars for the visitors. The sports cars from BMW were just eye-openers, the SUVs from Mercedes-Benz caught our attention, the Tata concepts were just a dream come true for all of us, the modified Mahindra Thar from DC Design stole all of our hearts while the mobile home from Isuzu got all of us biting our lips. All of us had a great time there and it was a great opportunity that the school offered us to learn and experience the future of automobiles.
MOVIE OUTING
The school took the SIRs to a movie outing on 3rd Feb, 2018 to the
Wave Mall, Noida. Padmaavat is a reason for recent conflicts in the
nation, but it touched the hearts of the scholars. They were taught
about being confident to express their views and about the poetic
origins of the movie’s plot from medieval times. The children enjoyed
the film and returned with a wider perspective about such issues.
INTER-HOUSE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Seven-a-side inter-house football tournament was
organized in the residence on 17th Feb, 2018 for the
boys of middle school. The school comes up with
such activities to encourage the next generation of
sportspersons and to inculcate habits like team-
work, leadership and sporting spirit among the
scholars. Daksh Vats (class 8) was the highest scorer
of the tournament with 6 goals.

YOUNG CHANGEMAKERS CONCLAVE
On 24th Feb, twenty scholars from the residences got the unique opportunity to attend Young Changemakers Con-clave at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Delhi. The agenda of the conclave was– social impact and innovation 2030. We met with many famous personalities like Dia Mirza, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Hayley Wickenheiser (a famous ice hockey player of Canada), Ishita Chaudhary, Vikram Kailas and Amitabh Kant. They discussed about issues like women em-powerment, environmental pollution and role of youth in nation building. The chief guest, the young prime minister of Canada– Justin Trudeau had refreshing and new ideas about how to make the world a better place. He talked about gender equality, anti-globalization and the youth being the makers of the society. He quoted that, "children are not the leaders of tomorrow rather the leaders of today". He is trying to raise awareness about gender equality in his country by providing equal opportunities to both men and women in service industry as well as in parliament. The program concluded with poem recitation by the famous poet Rupi Kaur.
MOVIE SCREENING
Residence scholars of junior school were shown two animated
movies in the weekends - Coco and Hotel Transylvania 2 .They
thoroughly enjoyed the movies and wanted this activity to hap-
pen more often.
Our Scholars-in-Residence visited the Noida Flower Show on the 24th Feb, 2018 at Noida Stadium. The 32nd Annual
Noida Flower show was organized by Horticultural Department of Noida authority and the Floricultural Society
Noida. The theme flower of the show was ‘Petunia’. Children enjoyed colourful display of various plants and flowers
as well as fruit and vegetable carvings. The show extensively showcased ecofriendly plants which gobble up toxins
and leave our environment clean.

Genesis Conversations is an interactive platform where scholars meet eminent personalities from various fields like
sports, arts, academics etc. The one on one interaction gives our scholars a chance to air their doubts and ask ques-
tions directly to the experts. Our school welcomed Ms. Srishti Bakshi on 27th Feb, 2018 for Genesis Conversations.
Ms Srishti Bakshi has been walking across nine states, covering a distance of 2,800 km to spread the message of
women safety. She is on a 3,800 km journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir covering the entire length of the country
in 260 days. She started her journey seven months ago from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu where she and her team of
12 members are collecting data regarding socio-economic status of women in India and the issues they face. She
intends to submit her research paper to the Union Ministry of women and child development after the completion
of her journey. She has been selected as a Champion for Change 2017, by United Nation’s ‘Empower Women Initia-
tive’. The United Nations Women and the National Commission for Women are officially supporting her project
‘Crossbow’. At the conversations, Ms. Bakshi interacted with the scholars, listening to their thoughts on women is-
sues and their safety in India. She shared her experiences with the scholars too, telling them about the people she
has encountered on her journey so far.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
On 2nd Feb, 2018 few girls from the residence visited an organization called ‘Titliyan’. Titliyan is a NGO located in Noida, working towards educating underprivileged children in India, especially among the low income communities. The scholars were enthusiastic to meet the children there and spent quality time with them by interacting, teaching and playing with them. While returning, the scholars distributed books and stationary items to them. Few girls from the residence visited Assisi Convent School, Noida on 14th Feb, 2018. Assisi Convent School is a private
unaided Christian Minority Institution established in 1987 by the Sisters of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation under
the administration of Noida Assisi Sekchik Sanstha of the San Damiano Province. It aims at imparting an education
which will bring about the intellectual, social, aesthetic, spiritual and physical growth of the child’s personality. The
school also has in its campus, Asha Sadan, a rehabilitation house started by Prison Ministry India, in initial collabora-
tion with Kiran Bedi IPS, for children of people who are in prison, unable to take care of them. Scholars enjoyed play-
ing football there and spent a quality time with them.

ACHIEVEMENTS
Sukhnoor Singh Chhabra (Class 12) received a letter of appreciation from the school for
his dedication and hard work for the Cinematography Club and successful mentoring of
the team.

Nimish Gupta (Class 7) and Lysandra Oinam (Class 8) secured
1st position in the English Olympiad in middle school category.
Vinayak Singla (Class 7) secured 1st position in the Science
Olympiad in middle school category.
Onshi Arora (Class 10) secured 1st position and Sameeksha
Aggarwal (Class 10) secured 2nd position in the English Olym-
piad in senior school category.
TRINITY (MUSIC)
Rigyal P. Yousal (Class 9) secured Merit (84%) in Trinity Col-
lege London Piano Examination (Grade 2).
Suhyun Kim (Class 9) secured (Merit (84%) in Trinity College
London Piano Examination (Grade 6).

Our girls' basketball team participated in the Junior NBA Championship (Under-14) and se-cured second place. 28 teams around the NCR took part in the tournament held at Ramjas School, R. K. Puram, New Delhi. Itqua Ansari (Class 7) and Sanya Aggarwal (Class 8) have been selected for the RF Jr. NBA National Champion-ship.
