Owners and hosts, we are keen conservationists, combining luxury

accommodation, fine-dining and authentic experiences with low impact tourism.

Clare, the chef, is a member of the slow food movement. She showcases seasonal local produce served with Nelson wines.

Peter is chair of Friends of Flora, one of New Zealand's most active community

conservation groups. We plant a native tree on the property for every guest as well as

donating funds for our very successful kiwi reintroduction project in the nearby

Kahurangi National Park.

The luxury of space

Set in 50 acres of bush, The Resurgence has 5 kilometres of walking tracks and abundant native bird-life. A 1-hour hike

takes guests to the source of the Riwaka River where a river emerges from the marble

rocks

On-site there is a salt-water swimming pool, a hot tub, a gym and yoga area, binoculars, bikes and a library of games and reference books. Massage therapies and facials can

also be arranged.

Stay longer

The central location makes The Resurgence a great base for 3-4 days; with day-trips in the Abel Tasman National Park (kayaking,

hiking and boat trips), Golden Bay (Farewell Spit, beaches, art & cafes), nature and

hiking in the Kahurangi National Park and Nelson's wineries and art studios all on the

doorstep.

A dinner party every night

Join your hosts for aperitifs at 7pm and dine dinner-party style with the other guests.

Clare, the chef, gained her love of food

from living and travelling in Europe and Asia.

Nelson is a great area for local “farm to table” produce. We grow our own organic

vegetables and our housekeeper, Kate, supplies free range eggs from her happy

chickens.

A romantic candle-lit table is offered in our private dining room for anyone celebrating a

special occasion.

Rooms in the main lodge

There are 4 queen ensuite rooms upstairs in the main Lodge building, close to the pool, lounge and dining room. Each is individually decorated in natural colours with views to

the Kahurangi National Park.

The standard rooms at the rear are 20m2 with sloping ceilings and cosy alcove sofa.

The superior rooms are 25m2 sunny rooms with plenty of space for luggage, a seating

area and writing desk.

Room rates include dinner, bed and breakfast.

Self-contained luxury Bush Suites

Nestled in the bush with uninterupted views over Kahurangi National Park, our Bush

Suites are ideal for those who want to get away from it all.

Bush Chalets are stand-alone studios with timber ceilings, natural colours, king beds,

kitchens, BBQs and big open decks.

Bush Lodges are our most luxurious suites; extremely well appointed with a spacious open plan design, enamel baths, polished

timber floors and earthy colours.

Room rates include a hamper breakfast. Guests can choose to self-cater or add

dinners and cooked breakfasts.

No children under 18, except babies under 1 year in Bush Chalets or Bush Lodges2-night minimum stay recommended. 1-night stays may be accepted before or after multi-day activities.Cancellation Policy: 60 days 25%, 30 days 50%, 7 days 100%. Closed 16 April – 14 October annually.
