Rhode Island Horseman’s Association Annual Newsletter
Dear RIHA Members,
As we say good-bye to 2020 (and good riddance I might add), please find your enclosed membership application for the new show season, December 1, 2020 through November 30, 2021. Our new Point Secretary, Lisabeth Goodheart, would very much appreciate everyone (including Life Members!) providing all requested information including the horse/pony you will be riding this year. If you enter a horse/pony at an event be sure to use the correct registration. This will help keep our records current with your information.
Please fill out the membership completely. By having all the correct information (application name whether under a barn name or a non-barn name is crucial) we will be better able to track you and your horse/pony. We can only be as accurate as the information that is provided to us. If you purchase or change mounts, it is your responsibility to send new information to the office. Points will only begin to accumulate when membership and horse/pony registration is received by the office.
Points will be final as follows: December – April on May 31, May – August on September 30, September – October on November 30, November on December 31. Awards in all classes/divisions will be as follows: High Score; Reserve; 3rd – 6th.
Check out http://www.rihorseman.com frequently for up-to-date point standings, calendar and rule updates, and member news. The Rhode Island Equitation Championships featuring the RIHA Medal finals has its own website, www.rifinals.com, where you can find information on the annual state show. Join the RIHA group on Facebook for up-to-the-minute updates and information on upcoming shows.
With regards to the banquet, the RIHA Board is working hard to bring ribbons and trophies to all the members who won something this year. At the moment the plan is to distribute the awards to each barn. We would love if each farm took pictures of everyone with their prizes and emailed them to the RIHA so we can celebrate on social media. If we can't celebrate in person, then the website and FaceBook will have to be the next best thing! Again, check out the website for the most current info regarding how and when the awards will be coming your way.

No restriction of horse/pony/rider into other divisions if otherwise eligible. See the RIHA website for more details!
