Question Why Did the Tucson Weekly Delete the Following Commentary Fromthe Leo Banksrsquo Story ldquo I Just Donrsquot Know Whatrsquos Around the Next Bend rdquo

Dear Mr BanksOver the past several years we in the Protect American Borders Movement haveread your articles with a growing sense of satisfaction and the sincere belief thatpeople were finally waking up and responding to the truth of what Really GoesOn in Southern Arizona

Recently yoursquove inspired our personal compassion by the several articles yoursquove written regarding the suffering of the Krentz family caused by the Murder of RobKrentz

However other than to tell us in detail anecdotal story by anecdotal story thegut wrenching horror of what is happening to people living on the border youseem very reluctant to provide any insight as to the root causes of what Irsquove oftendescribed as Open Border Policy or the systematic and intentional opening of Arizonarsquos borders for economic and political gain

Since the public doesnrsquot know why the borders were opened in the first place and which of their fellow Americans have benefited they remain as divided as ever onthe question of what to do about it

Hence without any meaningful media challenge the Arizona public daily seesreminders from Senator John McCain on how tough hersquoll be (once reelected) insecuring our borders without understanding this central truth for many yearsJohn McCain worked behind the scenes to keep the borders open and the illegalscoming so his Republican cronies like Jim Click and Don Diamond couldcontinue to exploit their misery for Cheap Mexican Labor economic gains

Matters of Fact to Support the Above Contention

1 John McCain did not support Arizonarsquos Employer Sanctions law whichrecently survived a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal challenge by his politicalsupporters and La Raza

2 John McCain did not support Arizonarsquos seminal proposition 200 in 2004

which limited illegal alien access to public services and the ballot box Hispolitical supporters joined the La Raza effort to overturn that law as well

3 Over the past decade John McCain has actually accelerated illegal entry by linking border security with ldquocomprehensive immigration reformrdquo (akaldquoAmnestyrdquo)

As you are no doubt well aware stories which inspire comment for comment andrejoinder for rejoinder responses give writers employment and make readers feelgood about their ldquoActivismrdquo but they do little to inform the public that when itcomes to the great border issues which divide this country the self interest of powerful economic and political forces and what goes on behind the scenes is What Really Matters

How can Arizonans comprehend the true motivation for Senator McCainsrsquosheroic campaign rhetoric and promise to protect the public interest if journalistsdonrsquot inform them of the truth of his long time support for Open Border Policy

Shouldnrsquot the public know that the Arizona Cattlemenrsquos Association (Rob Krentz was a member) (1) will indeed will lose uncountable millions of dollars if Panchoand Lupita go home to eat Mexican Beef on the Mexican side of the border and(2) refused to endorse SB 1070 prior to passage because ldquoit did not protect any of our people on the borderrdquo The Tucson Weekly (those stalwart defenders of free speech) has refused to allow these questions to be raised on the website and refuse to print any substantivearticle I offer on the subject but they will print articles written by you

Therefore Mr Banks We ALREADY know all of the generalities if not most of thespecifics of the horror which takes place daily on our southern border so pleasespare us future gut wrenching stories which only serve to distract us
