THE ROLES OF NURSES IN INDONESIA
Before i discuss the role of nurses for Indonesia . I will talk
about the word healthy . Each peoplehave different understanding
and perception of it. One of the scientists Neuma argued that "
healthy" in a certain range is the welfare level of clients at
particular time , which is contained within the
range of optimal prosperous condition , with the maximum energy

substances, so the food we eat would definitely causes
continuousdamage or disease in our bodies . Just look around us ,
now the level of health in Indonesia hasdeclined. It is caused due
to unhealthy food consumed . Here the role of the hospital is
needed . Notonly that cares nurses but also plays an important role
in overcoming client . What is the nurse ?nurse is a person who
plays a role in caring for or maintaing , assisting , and keeping
someone due toillness , injury , and viruses aging . Here the role
of the nurse is responsibled and authorized toprovide nursing
services independently and collaborate with other health
professionals inaccordance with their authority.
In this era, and increased health care needs has demanded nurses
to have the knowledge and skillsin various fields . Currently
nurses have a wider role to emphasis health promotion and
diseaseprevention , based on comprehensive view of clients .people
have classifed the function of nurses in general, such as :1 ) Care
GiverNurses must :
a) Taking into account the individual in the context of
appropriate client's life , nurses should payattention to the
client based on the client's needs significant .b ) Nurses use
Nursing Process to identify nursing diagnoses , ranging from
physical ( physiological )to psychological problems nasalahc ) Its
main role is to provide nursing care to individuals , families ,
groups or communities accordingdiagnoses problems that occur from
problems that are simple to complex .
2 ) Client AdvocateAs a client advocate , the nurse is
responsible for helping clients and families in
interpretinginformation from a variety of service providers and to
provide other information necessary to takeapproval ( informed
concent ) for nursing actions that are given to him .
Besides nurses must maintain and protect the rights of clients .
This must be done because the clientis ill and hospitalized will
interact with many health workers . Nurse is a member of the health
teamthe longest contact with the client , the nurse should leh
because it defends the rights of clients .
3 ) Counselor
a) The main task is to identify changes in the pattern of nurse
client interaction to a healthy state ofpain .b ) A change in the
pattern of this interaction is the " Basic " in the planning method
to improve itsability to adapt .c ) counseling given to depressed
individuals / families in integrating health experience with
pastexperience .

4 ) Educatora) This role can be done to clients , families ,
other health care team , either spontaneously (sat
interactions ) and formal ( prepared ) .b ) The task is to help
clients enhance nursing knowledge in an effort to improve health ,
symptomsof the disease according to the conditions and specific
actions .c ) Basic implementation is the role of intervention in
the NCP .
5 ) CoordinatorThe role of the nurse is to direct , plan ,
organize service of all members of the health team . Becauseclients
receive services from many profesioanl , eg ; compliance with
nutrition . Aspects that must beconsidered are: the type, quantity
, composition , preparation , management , by providing ,monitoring
, motivation , dedukasi and so on .
6 ) CollaboratorIn this case the nurse with clients , families ,
other health team seeks to identify the necessary healthservices
including brainstorming on dipelukan services clients , providing
support , expertise andskills blend of professionals from various
health providers .
7 ) ConsultantThis element is not directly related to the
client's request for information about a given nursing goals. With
this role can be said treatment is ang resources related to
specific conditions of the client .
8 ) Change AgentThis element includes planning , cooperation ,
systematic changes in the client and how to relate
primarily to the provision of nursing to clients .
Not only extensive knowledge and skills . Nurses also must have
good personalities or ethics to theclient . Have you ever heard
people around us talk about nurses ? Yes. even my own friends a
fewdays ago when they where out of the hospital argued , that some
nurses at the hospital provide lessthan satisfactory service . It
is caused due to several factors , one of it is ethical manners
andhospitality . Nursing ethics are also important . Characters
such as nurses , friendliness , courtesy,and responsiveness also
influence the service . If the nurses have less responsive , how a
nurse canprovide a good service ? Right? . Therefore , the nurse
must also have good characters or ethics .
The next requirement is Improving the quality of care. It is a
process of meeting the needs andexpectations of both internal and
external client .
Nursing service is a relief given to individuals who are sick to
be able to meet their needs , asliving creatures that adapt to
stress by using the potential of the individual itself .The
hospital is a place to carry out the effort to improve health ,
prevent and cure disease ,
and restore health . Society has considered that the hospital is
the last hope for people whoare sick . There are even some people
who behave immediately go to the hospital only if theyare suffering
from a particular disease . Quality improvement as one of the basic
goals of theeffort is the nursing care of protecting patients ,
healthcare workers and the organization . Thesocio- cultural
changes people and developes the science and technology . It
