THE SALVATION ARMY OF SACRAMENTO
“I invite you to
partner with us to
sustain our community.”
- Major Ivan Wild
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the
gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Dear Friend,
What a blessing it is to be the Divisional Commander of the Del Oro Division. To be a part of the Capital Region, surrounded by such rich history, unique beauty, and generous supporters such as yourself, is truly something of which we can all be very proud.
The Salvation Army is here to serve the needs of Sacramento County. From the E. Claire Raley Transitional Living Complex, to Shelter Services, to the Early Care and Education Programs, the role of The Salvation Army is to help individuals and families at their point of need.
Throughout these ever-changing times, The Salvation Army is rising to meet the needs of our region. Therefore, I invite you to partner with us to sustain our community and to bring hope to the women, men and children of Sacramento who need it most.
I would like to encourage you to read the information enclosed in this booklet and to reach out to our Donor Relations Staff, Kim Butters and Mitch McConkey, or one of our Advisory Board members to learn how your generosity and compassion can make miracles happen.
Sincerely,
Major Ivan WildDel Oro Divisional Commander

CENTER OF HOPEOur 121-bed Center of Hope, the largest homeless shelter in Sacramento County, provides men and women a stay of 30 to 90 days with a focus on overcoming homelessness. Our clients receive case management and linkage to long-term stable housing, job preparation workshops, recovery groups and Bible study.
Also at the Center, we’ve introduced our new Culinary
Arts Training Program to enable us to serve
those persons who have come to grips with their
homelessness and/or addiction issues and are ready to
take the next step in becoming independent.
This culinary program trains participants to develop
entry-level kitchen skills so that they may successfully
work in food service operations, including restaurants,
hotels, hospitals, and other industry-related
organizations. Each 16-week course includes 384

HOW TO JOIN THE ENDOWMENT PARTNERS PROGRAM
Outright GiftsOutright gifts can be made using cash, stock, mutual funds, real estate or a direct transfer from your IRA. Gifts of appreciated assets have the added advantage of
eliminating capital gains tax, which reduces the cost of your gift.
Life-Income and Testamentary GiftsThere are a variety of gift planning options available that can be customized to meet
your personal financial needs and charitable giving goals. They include:
• Charitable Gift Annuity – A charitable gift annuity is a simple contract that provides one or two beneficiaries with a fixed and secure income for life at attractive payout rates. Benefits include tax savings and tax-advantaged income. When you fund a charitable gift annuity, a portion of your gift will be transferred at your passing to the program endowment you designate.
THE ENDOWMENT PARTNERS PROGRAM
Endowments are special because they provide a permanent source of support for programs and services that make a substantial difference in the lives of others. The Endowment Partners Program brings together people with a shared vision to reshape their community.
Each Endowment Partner shares an enduring belief in the mission of The Salvation Army in Sacramento County. Their endowment investment provides a return beyond measure in the shared accomplishment of lives changed and a community enhanced for generations to come.
10
• Charitable Remainder Trust – A charitable remainder trust is extremely flexible and may be customized to meet your personal and family needs. Income may be fixed or variable. The trust term may be measured by lifetimes or a fixed number of years.
• Will, Living Trust or Beneficiary Designation – You can fund an endowment gift by naming The Salvation Army as a beneficiary through your will, living trust, retirement plan, IRA, bank accounts or life insurance policy.
THE NAMED ENDOWMENT FUND: A LASTING LEGACY
The establishment of a named Endowment Fund can memorialize the values of an individual or family in perpetuity. The minimum commitment to establish a named endowment is $100,000 to be funded now or through a testamentary gift.
Please be assured that discussions are confidential and without obligation.
