How the Challenge Works

The Sam and Marilyn Fox Challenge will match annual gifts of any amount directed to scholarship support.

Preparing the Leaders of Tomorrow

Sam and Marilyn Fox have made a generous $5 million commitment to encourage support for annual scholarships at Washington University.

All gifts directed to scholarship support will help meet the goals of Leading Together: The Campaign for Washington University.

Today the world’s best students compete to attend Washington University. They are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated potential to become leaders of their generation. They are bright, creative, and compassionate, and for many promising students, this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is financially out of reach.

Every scholarship gift—regardless of the amount—helps open doors of opportunity for students who otherwise might not be able to attend Washington University.

Gifts of $1,000 or more are recognized with membership in the William Greenleaf Eliot Society. For more information on the benefits of membership, please visit eliotsociety.wustl.edu. For a gift of $5,000 or more, you may establish a named annual scholarship to benefit students in the school of your choice.
