HELP! Now What!??! Medicare Open Enrollment starts on October 15th and goes to December
7th. Do you have questions about your current insurance or Part D plan? Are
you interested in looking for a new plan? Perhaps something less expensive
or with different coverage?
Join us on Thursday, October 26th from 6-8 P.M. for a Medicare open
enrollment seminar given by Becky Moriarty, our SHINE counselor. We are
also thrilled that some of the insurance companies will be joining us that
night. Blue Cross Blue Shield, Fallon and Health New England are all
confirmed. We are waiting to hear from Tufts and AARP. We will also
welcome back Attorney Dave Carlson to share information about planning for
the future. Bring your questions! Sign up at the front desk or by calling the
senior center. Refreshments will be served.

RMV Near Me The Hampden Senior Center, in partnership with the Registry of Motor
Vehicles, is aiming to cut down on wait times at registry offices by helping
you with common transactions right here at the senior center. On the
second Wednesday of every month from 10A.M. – 11A.M. starting on October 11th,
Wendy and/or Becky will be able to help you renew your license (for divers younger
than age 75; if you are over 75 you are required to take an eye test at the RMV), renew
your registration, change your address, request a duplicate license or registration,
and help you report a lost or stolen disability placard or how to request a
replacement. You must call to schedule an appointment and you must have a valid
checking account or credit card to process any transaction. Please call 566-5588 with
any questions, for more information, or to schedule an appointment.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - Marion E. DeLapa
Marion (Toots) has lived in Hampden for 47 years. She now
enjoys being a snowbird during the winter months.
Marion attended STCC and worked at Springfield City Hall as a
Supervisor of Board of Excise Tax Division.
She loves exercising with her friends here at the center,
working the front desk, and collating the Scribe.
She enjoys reading, decorating and gardening, her advice is to
come try volunteering, “you will love it”

HSC Rockin’ Chair Players Auditions
On Saturday, October 28th from 2-4 P.M. at the Hampden
Senior Center, auditions will be held for the newest murder
mystery endeavor, “Murder on the High Seas”,
a rockin’ and rollin’ adventure. Please call Bobbi at 566-8271,

NEW CLASS ON MONDAYS! “Barre Above”
A pilates, ballet and yoga-infused class that focuses on balance, core and total body strengthening!
This is the first type of “Barre” to be offered in this area.
This class is for all fitness levels. Class will incorporate chairs and mats (please bring a mat if you have one;
mats will be available but are a limited supply)
“Barre Above” will take place after the “Zumba” class.
“Zumba” will now be 12:15-1:15 (this provides the class time for preparation after the Tai Chi class)
“Barre Above” 1:30-2:30 (this provides the class time for prepping our chairs and mats)
Instructor for both classes is Kelly D. Bergeron, Licensed “Zumba" Instructor and Certified “Barre Above” Instructor.
Cost of classes: $7 per class or enjoy both for $12
After 12 consecutive classes, receive 1 class of choice for free!
Get 1 class of choice for free if class takes place on birthday!
Refer a friend 1 time per month and get class of choice for 1/2 price!
