There is a lot for which to be thankful at Deep Creek
Baptist Church. We have experienced some meaningful
worship services on Sunday mornings the last few months.
The choir continues to bless our hearts and point us to
Christ each week. UPWARD registration is underway, and
people are beginning to step up to ensure this ministry is
once again a blessing to families in our community. New
life has sprung on Wednesday evenings with our fabulous meals and Bible study options for
children, youth and adults.
The Deacons had a great workshop in October where we were challenged to be faithful
servant leaders in our congregation. The new church directory is coming together nicely. Our
members continue to faithfully serve each week at Yadkin Christian Ministries and the first
backpacks have been packed for our Backpack ministry this school year. Our time at Lake
Hampton was a meaningful time of worship, and an enjoyable church picnic. Are you so glad
to be a part of the family of God at Deep Creek Baptist?
During November, we are going to strive to keep ourselves grounded in gratitude. This is a
busy time of year for all of us individually and corporately but let us keep reminding one
another what it truly means to be Christ-Centered, Bible-Based, and Ministry Focused.
November 10 we will recognize our veterans and hear from the Gideon ministry. All of this will
lead us to the end of the month when we will give thanks and enjoy a great Thanksgiving
luncheon together following worship on November 24.
I pray God will bless and strengthen each of you and your families this month. Let us be
mindful of those hurting, grieving, and experiencing difficult days among us and in the
community. I pray we can be a light for Christ and give thanks for each day that we are
granted.
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for
you in Christ Jesus.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
