The Senior Center building will be used for our fundraiser from

April 5-7. Therefore, we will not be having any normally scheduled

activities during those days.

However, there will be a Pool and Canasta Tournament during those times. Please

see page 4 for details, and for other ways you can contribute to make a most

important fundraiser of the year a success!

We’re walking to Graceland in Memphis! Well, kind of...

The Maury County Senior Center, the Maury County Health Department, and the South Central Regional Health Department are

sponsoring a “Walking to Memphis In May” event to promote health and fitness. This will span over six weeks to walk the distance to

Graceland and back.

There will be a kick-off at 10am on April 16th, and a celebration at 10am on May 25th for those that have participated. We have forms to track your progress, and to turn in to put towards our

goal. During the six week period we will also have speakers on Tuesdays at 10am.

The AARP Smart Driver™ 2-day course is recognized as an approved accident prevention course for drivers age 55 and

older by the Tennessee Department of Safety. The cost is $15 for AARP members, and $20 for non-members. Please call the Senior Center at 931-380-3950 to register. Seating is limited.

Mule Day Week is April 2nd-8th. Please be aware that there will be a great deal of extra traffic at the Senior Center that week. We will not be having any activities on April 5th & 6th. Instead, we are

having one of our biggest fundraisers those days; as well as on Saturday, the 7th.

Please let family and friends know we will be selling food from 7am-5pm on those days. *** Both breakfast and lunch will be offered. ***

If you would like to bake a dessert for this fundraiser, please contact Lynn at [email protected]

We will be having a Hand & Foot Canasta Tournament and a Pool Tournament on Thursday, April 5th.

There is a $5 entrance fee to be in each tournament. Prizes: $50 1st Place $25 Second Place $15 Third Place

Hand & Foot Canasta: Please be here by 8:30am. You do not have to register early. However, if you desire, you can sign up on the bulletin board by the card room, or you can call the Senior Center at 931.380.3950 to register. You may wait to pay on the morning of the tournament.

4th inside the Senior Center. On April 26th blood pressures and oxygen levels will be taken.

Do you have an old pair of glasses that aren’t being used? Please consider donating them to the Lion’s

Club to be made into glasses someone else could use. We collect them for the Lion’s Club at the Senior Center!
