What is Behind the SharePoint User Challenge?
Business Users Refuse to Use SharePoint
Companies are spending tons of
time,
money, and resources on Microsoft
SharePoint, to help people to
work
faster, better, and smarter.
But, despite the best intent
ions and the
big investments, organizations are findi
ng
it difficult to get typical bus
iness users
to embrace SharePoint. The result? Huge
investments with disappointing returns.
In fact, according to a recent uSamp survey of business email users
03 / 17
Only 1 out of 3
survey respondents
with access to
SharePoint use it
on a daily basis.
04 / 17
37% percent refuse to use SharePoint at all,or they use it less than once a month.

Why Don’t Business Users Embrace SharePoint?
People spend their day in email.
For most professionals, SharePoint is
just another application inte
rface
they have to learn.
But people don’t like to cha
nge their daily
work habits. In fact, changing
behavior is
one of the biggest barriers
to new product
adoption.
06 / 17
Specifically, people find it takes too much time and effort to
search, access, and share documents on SharePoint.
So they resist,
and continue doing
what they have
always done…share
documents as email
attachments.
07 / 17
80% of respondents with SharePoint access still resort to “email ping pong” when it comes to editing documents.
and that is the point of the challenge...
There has got tobe a better way
