Aquarius, founded in 1989, is one of the first IT companies in Russia. In 1990, the company, with participation of partners from Europe and Asia, built the country’s first private computer equipment plant in compliance with the best international practices and standards in IT manufacturing.Today the Aquarius plant is one of the largest domestic IT manufacturers, capable of releasing over 400,000 high-tech devices per year—not only computers, but also laptops, all-in-one PCs, information terminals, data storage systems, servers and telecommunications equipment, matching or surpassing imported products in both quality and functionality.

All workers carrying out assembly operations are equipped with antistatic wrist straps.

Installation of software, both system-wide and specialized, is also performed at the plant.

The production process is documented in a special routing slip that lists all transactions, serial numbers of components, and revealed defects with a record made of their elimination.

Before entering the assembly line, every component undergoes preliminary examination: visual inspection and functional testing. Assembled equipment is dispatched to preliminary testing, and then to thermal chamber testing.

The final stage includes an electrical safety test under increased voltage, packaging the products that have passed all the tests and their delivery to the finished products warehouse.

Every entry in the routing slip is confirmed with the personal stamp of the assembly line worker who performed the operation.

Aquarius uses «just-in-time» production methods. After the development, project approval, and component selection, the assembly of hundreds and thousands of devices takes no more than 4 days.

In order to ensure product quality and to gain the trust of customers, in 1998 Aquarius has implemented and currently successfully uses a quality management system conforming to ISO 9001 international standards.

A certificate of compliance guarantees that the quality

management system, which spans design, production,

and supply of electronic computing equipment,

meets the requirements of GOST ISO 9001-2011 (ISO

9001:2008) (certification in 1998, 2001, 2005, 2008,

2011, 2014).

Since 2009 the company also confirms compliance of the

existing quality management system to GOST RV 0015-

002-2012 in Military Register, a voluntary certification

system, every three years. All equipment assembled at

the plant is supplied with a complete set of obligatory

state certificates. We are also able to perform special

studies and tests.

For many years Aquarius has remained the largest supplier to the public sector agencies that take into regard not only the technical characteristics of the equipment, but also information security and the absence of undeclared capabilities that could be achieved only when devices are produced in Russia.

The plant’s engineering base enables the production,

testing, and delivery of ready hardware-software

packages adapted to customer needs, supplementing

orders with equipment and software from other

vendors, including certified data protection tools.

special tests and studies of devices in a specially

equipped laboratory at the plant.

For many years Aquarius has been cooperating with the largest international IT companies, adapting the experience, competencies, and production technologies of global IT leaders.

At various times the plant has manufactured products for

Cisco, ASUS, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, EMC, HP, and

other leading IT brands. To do this, Aquarius employees

have undergone special training and manufacturing

processes have been audited for compliance with

international quality standards.

The OEM production model enables the plant to produce

IT goods using technologies and components from OEM

partners. Localized products are completely identical in

functionality and compatibility to the goods of foreign

manufacturers, they are certified according to Russian

standards, and supplied with local technical support

throughout Russia. This way Aquarius enables the

transfer of the cutting-edge global technologies into

Russia to develop the domestic IT industry and contribute

to import substitution.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

The first OEM contract with HP was signed in 2001. The first HP PC was assembled at the Aquarius plant that year. As part of the project, in 2002 the production and quality control system of the Aquarius enterprise was integrated with a similar solution of the HP factory in Grenoble, France. Later Aquarius signed several more contracts for production of HP devices at its plant.

In 2006–2009, under a tripartite agreement, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Microsoft, and Aquarius produced over 20,000 PCs and implemented replication with the FSC ERP system at the Shuya plant.

In 2003, Aquarius became the world’s first Cisco AVVID partner in server production. In the same year Aquarius and Cisco launched a joint project: production of integrated IP solutions based on Aquarius servers and Cisco CallManager software. In 2013, as the part of the global Cisco Configure-To-Order project, we launched a Cisco server production line.

In 2002, a contract with Tyco Electronics was signed for the manufacture of AMP patchcords was signed.

In 2005, Aquarius became the first EMC OEM partner in Europe. Under the agreement the company can use EMC technologies in Aquarius-branded disk array production. In 2014, the agreement was renewed and the equipment range was expanded.

In 2012, Aquarius and ASUS launched a joint project for production of ASUS desktop PCs and server platforms at Aquarius manufacturing facilities.

Aquarius has been a major employer in Ivanovo

Region for decades. In 2016, the Aquarius Shuya

plant became the best in the category of employers

with 100 to 500 employees, based on the results of

a competition held by the Russian Social Insurance

Shuya is known since the mid-14th century as a fiefdom

of the Shuysky princes. In olden times the city was

called «Russian Manchester» due to high concentration

of textile mills. Shuya is conveniently located on the

navigable Teza River, which promoted industrial and

Shuya is a historical city of Russia and forms part of

the Golden Ring. The Resurrection Cathedral complex,

including its world-famous 106-meter bell tower (the first

campanile in Europe standing apart from temples), is a
