navigating the mtnbackup.mobi menu options and using the Cellulike Advanced application.

Click on either of the options below to continue with a walk through of each.

To navigate through the various screens, simply click on the page buttons, or screenshot menu buttons to view

the content of these options.

Signing up for a new MTN Backup & Restore account

MTN Backup & Restore Signup Process

The mtnbackup.mobi Main Menu

Most of the Members Account management functionality can be

carried out directly from the device using the mtnbackup.mobi main

menu screen

From your phone browser, go to

www.mtnbackup.mobi

Simply click on the menu buttons on any of the screenshots to navigate the menu options

There is a second sub menu inside ‘Members Account Login’

Change Language

Selecting your language of choice from

the drop down menu and clicking ‘Update’

will set the whole mtnbackup menu

system to that language

Members Account Login

To view more account management options,

enter the account Username (phone

number) and Password (activation code), then

click ‘Continue’

Once logged in to the Members Home Page, the menu now

displays these options – including the account Username and User ID

These account functions can be used directly from the device

Add New Device - 1

When adding a new device to an existing account, the Activation

code used for that account is pre-filled

Then check to make sure the Make & Model are being displayed

correctly – if not, select the correct model from the dropdown menu

(Note: It is important that the correct model of phone is selected, in order for the

correct version of the app to be downloaded !)

then click ‘Add New Device to Your Account’

Depending on the device being used, you will then be directed automatically to the relevant download centre where the

application will then be downloaded and installed on the device



Installation & User Guide

If an Installation & User Guide is required, enter an email address

here and click ‘Send’

Reload Application - 1

Select the appropriate device that needs to have the application

reinstalled to

This confirms the device that the application is being reinstalled on

This confirms the device that the application is being reinstalled on

Friends & Family - 1

The Friends & Family service enables the customer to list up to 10 preferred contacts, that can all be informed of a customers new contact details at one time in the

event of phone loss

To start creating this list, click ‘Set Up’




Enter the name, phone number and email address of a friend, or family member you would like to notify in

the event of phone loss

and click ‘Add New Contact’




The first contact has been successfully added

If another contact needs to be added, simply click ‘Add New’ and

enter the next set of contact details etc. etc.

This particular contact can be edited at any stage if required

click ‘Edit Contact’



Transfer Data Between Devices - 1

Click on the device that contains the data to be transferred from

In this example, click on the BlackBerry




Now choose the backup ID

In this example, click on Backup ID: 19224




Now click on the device that data is being transferred to

In this example, click on the Galaxy S4




This is the confirmation screen

If everything is satisfactory click ‘Yes, this is correct’




The confirmation that the transfer was successful

If another transfer is required, select ‘Transfer another backup’

If no further transfers are required, click on ‘Back

to main menu’



Transfer Storage - 1

To transfer storage space between devices, first click on the phone

image for the device that the space is to be taken from

In this example, click on the Galaxy Sll





Enter the amount that is to be moved to another device

In this example, 50 MB has been selected

There is also the option to choose MB’s or GB’s

then click on ‘Go to Next Step’




Click on the phone image for the device that the storage space is to

be given to (the Galaxy S4)



Now observe that the 50MB was successfully transferred from the

Galaxy Sll - across to the Galaxy S4

click on ‘Back to Members Home Page’



Select Restore Point - 1

For tutorial example purposes, we will demonstrate selecting a restore point using an account with more than one device registered to it

Click on the device image to select which device the restore point is

going to be selected from





There are two previous backups – and the current Restore Point is

from the last backup that was made (#1 – Backup ID 21031)

In this example, we have decided to use a previous backup as the new

restore point - to do this, click on #2 – Backup ID

21023




You will now see that the new current restore point has been set

to #2 – Backup ID 21023




Technical Information

This screen displays various bits of technical information about the

device being used

(Note: This information may appear to be of no immediate value, but would be of importance in the event of supplying

information when raising a Support Ticket)




The Cellulike Advanced Application

Having used the www.mtnbackup.mobi menu to sign

up for a new account, then downloaded and installed the application, you will have the

Cellulike Advanced application icon displayed on your phone screen

Click on the app icon to open and login to the application and start

using the service

Having clicked on the app icon, the application ‘splash screen’ will open and the Username & Password login form will be displayed if it’s the first

time the app has been opened,

Enter the account Username and Password that was entered during

the signup

click on ‘Submit’

The account login details only need to be entered for the first login, the next login will happen automatically after clicking on the app icon

Select which ever option is required to continue

Click on ‘Exit’ to close the application and go back to the

phones home screen

Having selected Backup, and for the purposes of this tutorial, we will backup some images, music, documents and

contacts

Here, 3 Images have been selected (green ticks) - now from the top scroll

menu, select Audios

(Note; If the selected files exceed the amount of available storage space in the account, an alert message will be

displayed)

From the Documents folder, one .xls file has been selected

(File types that can be backed up include .doc - .docx - .xls - .xlsx

- .pdf - .ppt - .txt etc)

- Finally, Contacts, SMS / MMS and Calendar files are located under the ‘Others’ menu option, so, from the

top scroll menu, select Others

Here, Contacts have been selected, there are no SMS / MMS or Calendar

files available

So now, all of the required files have been selected. To continue

with the backup, click on ‘Next’ in the top right corner

Confirmation

The Backup confirmation info panel is displayed to confirm the selected

files for backing up

Click on ‘No’ to amend or reselect files - Click on ‘Yes’ to continue with

the backup

ProgressWhile the files is are backing up, a

progress bar is displayed

Clicking on ‘Cancel’ at this stage will cancel the backup process and the app

will go back to the menu screen

If there is a break in the connection during the backup, the following alert

message will be displayed

Successful

The Backup Successful info panel is displayed when the backup is

complete – and that’s it, all done!

Click on ‘Continue’ to go back to the app main menu

Then, if no further action is required, click on ‘Exit’ on the main

menu to close the application

Restore is selected from the app menu when it is necessary to download and restore backed up files to the phone

Once the application has logged in, all of the files available for restoring will be

displayed

For this example, we will restore a music file and Contacts from a previous

backup

Click on ‘Continue’ to go to Contacts and select them for restoring …

Click on Contacts to select them for restoring – You will notice that for

Contacts, it will say ‘Total: 1’- this is not because there is only 1 contact, it’s because Contacts are managed

as 1 single combined file, and in this example, there are 175

Contacts in the ‘1 file’ – the total number of contacts will be displayed at the ‘Restore

Successful’ screen

Click on ‘Next’ at top right to start the restore process

The Restore confirmation info panel is displayed to confirm the selected

files for backing up

Click on ‘No’ to amend or reselect files - Click on ‘Yes’ to continue with

the restore

While the files is are downloading, a progress bar is displayed

Clicking on ‘Cancel’ at this stage will cancel the restore process and the app will go back to the menu

screen

The Restore Successful info panel is displayed when the restore is

complete – and that’s it, all done! (Note: if the device has an SD memory card,

the restored files will be saved there, if no SD card is inserted, files will be restored to

the device memory)

Then, if no further action is required, click on ‘Exit’ on the main

menu to close the application

MTN Backup Signup Process

To subscribe, a short code SMS is sent from the phone (that has an MTN SIM) - send the message: C1

to 38388

Note: There are three Signup options that provide varying

amounts of account storage space:

C1 = 100MB C2 = 1GB

C3 = 5GB

Click on ‘Continue’ to get the next screen

A reply with this Link would then be sent immediately to the customer

They click on this link - which will send them to the New Account

Registration Form

Click on ‘Continue’ to get the next screen

On the New Account Registration Form, the Activation Code is entered and the device model is displayed, if the model is not displayed correctly, simply select the correct model from the dropdown menu – the account username will be the subscribers mobile phone number

(Note: The activation code also serves as the account password)

Click on ’Submit’ or ‘Continue’ to get the next screen

The confirmation screen informing the customer that the new account was

successfully created - and displays the Username and Password to be used for

logging in to that account

then select ‘Click here to install software’

Depending on the device being used, you will then be directed automatically to the relevant download centre where the application will then be downloaded

and installed on the device




In this example, the device being used is an Android device, which means the

customer will be get the Play Store download centre screen

then select ‘Install’






Having clicked on ‘Install’ to download the application, a popup window will be displayed – this informs the customer of

the Permissions Settings that are required in order to download and

install the application

then select ‘Accept’

this allows the application to be downloaded and installed on to the

phone




Once the application has been downloaded and installed, the option to open the app is

displayed.

When this option is clicked, the application login screen will be opened where the

customer enters their account username and password to continue

Once logged in, the application menu will be displayed and they can start using the

application immediately - select ‘Open’

Alternatively, they can close everything down and go to the phones home screen and click on the app icon to start using the app –

but this is not the preferred process !

MTN Backup & Restore Reset Password - 1

To reset the password for an account, enter your full telephone number

(an SMS will be sent to this number)

Then click on ‘Reset My Password’




An SMS will then be sent to that phone number

The SMS contains a link that you click on to reset your password

Click on ‘Go to SMS screen’

An SMS will then arrive at that phone number

The SMS contains the link that you click on to confirm the reset

of your password

Click on ‘Password Reset’ link




This screen then confirms that the Password reset was successful

Now go back the SMS inbox to view the new Password

The new password can now be entered, along with the username

to login to the account

When the link is clicked, it will go directly to the account Login

The My Device List page displays all of the devices that are registered to the account

Click on the device that view the options available - for example,

you can change the name of each device to display a preferred

name

current make & model text

Scroll further down the screen for more options – ie: View Backups, Reload Software, Update Make &

When the selected files size exceeds the amount of available

storage space in the account, this alert message is displayed

If you click on ‘No’ – the backup will be discontinued and a fresh backup

can be made

Once back at the app menu screen, a fresh backup can be made, or you

can Exit the app

Click on ‘Exit’ to close the application and go back to the

phones home screen



MTN Backup & Restore Update Password - 1

The Update (change) Password screen displays the customers current password – and gives

information on what’s required when updating to a new password

Scroll down to the bottom of this screen to get the entry field

click on ‘Go to bottom of the screen’

When the Update Password option is selected, a random password will be auto generated – in this

example, nm6945 has been generated

if something different is required, simply overwrite what’s there and

enter a preferred password

Click on ‘Go to next screen’

For this example, the auto generated password has been overwritten with the preferred

password - gtyuio4567

Then click on ‘Update Password’




This next (final) screen confirms that the new password has been

successfully recorded as - gtyuio4567

The next time the customer logs in to the mtnbackup.mobi menu, or to the application, they must enter their username and this

new password

Then click on ‘Back to main menu’
