Part 1: Brainstorm the word “STEREOTYPES”

Part2: Before watching the video – dictionary work: Familiarization- introduction (or review) of

the (new)vocabulary Pronunciation practice  Checking meaning and understanding of

wordsPart 3: While watching the video –

Students read the questions in advance. Teacher checks understanding of instructions. SS watch the video and write TRUE or FALSE according to the statements.

Part4: After watching the video- For the 3rd part, pairs of SS write about what is true and what isn’t true about Brazil, considering the stereotypes they have seen on The Simpsons’ episode.

OBS: This activity was just part of a whole lesson plan about stereotypes. It worked well, SS grasped the vocabulary, had the chance to discuss the theme using the target language (TL) and the four skills were used.
