THE VIEW FROM THE EXPERTS
Raimon Martínez-FrailePresident of the SITC“The SITC, the sector leader in Spain among trade shows aimed at
the end consumer, is back again with even more travel ideas, all
geared towards showcasing the latest trends and adapting to visitors'
demands: this is the place where they will find tailor-made vacations in
a holiday atmosphere, arousing the desire to get away and giving
them a world of travel experiences without even leaving Barcelona.”
Eulogi Bordas President of THR, International Tourism Consultants“Wine-related tourism creates unforgettable experiences and offers a
sustainable and environmentally-friendly way of discovering the true
feel of destinations and products that are full of character. Original and
exclusive places that I am certain the SITC will give the positioning
they deserve.”
Ramón RamosDirector of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board“Our tourism strategy is based on three pillars, namely nature, culture and gastronomy-wine, which are cross-cutting values that
underpin the whole tourism offer in the destination. In fact tourism has grown slightly in the area, especially in options such as the
Empordà DO Wine Route, cultural and traditional events and music festivals. Product and market differentiation, specialisation and
segmentation are key to continuing to be a leading tourist destination in the Mediterranean. Against this backdrop the SITC is shifting its
philosophy and approach driven by changing trends in the global tourism market. This show needs to remain committed to
professionalism and promoting sector forums and networking”.
