We’re delighted to present the world premiere of series two of Sky 1 HD’s award-winning comedy, Moone Boy, in the company of its co-writers Chris O’Dowd and Kilkenny native Nick Vincent Murphy as well as some of its stars including David Rawle who plays Martin Moone. Scottish prodigy Kevin Bridges will perform some of his only live shows this year at the festival and for the first time there’s a programme for kids and families in the atmospheric Rothe House.
Comedy mastermind Dylan Moran returns to Kilkenny for the first time in eight years; we have the European debut of 30 Rock star Judah Friedlander; a one-off performance by Irish comedy pioneer, Kevin McAleer, entirely in the Irish language; and the Masters series sees living legends Jimmy Cricket and Sil Fox show the young guns how it’s done. Festival veteran Dom Irrera interviews fellow comedians in Uncle Dom’s Fireside Chats in the medieval Hole in the Wall tavern, which will also play host to the Wildcats emerging talent showcase and Simon Munnery’s satire on modern gastronomy: La Concepta.
There are familiar favourites, prodigal returns and completely new experiences all to be soaked up at The Sky Cat Laughs 2013 in wonderful Kilkenny City. Drink deep, eat well and laugh out loud responsibly.

We’ve merged the talents of the best improvisers from the Dublin Comedy Improv with those of some of the stars of
Whose Line is It Anyway to create a comedy improv monster of epic proportions. Brilliantly funny and ingeniously crafted comedy games and songs from Ian Coppinger, Steve Frost, Steve Steen, Andy Smart, Tara Flynn, Paul Tylak, Michelle
Read, Brendan Dempsey, Kevin Gildea, Joe Rooney, Dermot Whelan, and more.

Kevin McAleer has been threatening to learn Irish properly for forty years, and here he takes a giant leap forward in the
dark with the translation of his classic ‘Chalk & Cheese’ show. Widely regarded (by himself) as his best ever work,
this everyday tale of madness, paranoia and obsessive word play is hilarious nonsense in any language. But will McAleer
be able to find enough bad puns in Irish to go round? And will he be able to learn it all off in time? Bigí linn

You know it well, it’s the one where you’re in your pyjamas, your pen has turned into a banana, the invigilator is Alf
Stewart and the whole exam is taking place in McCoys in Fair City. You can only be dreaming about one thing:
The Leaving Cert.
In 2011 he told the recession through Facebook, in 2012 he created @irishmammies - this year Colm O’Regan finally knuckles down to study the uniquely Irish rite of passage:
The Leaving
This is a one-off show and is unlikely to be repeated (unless it doesn’t get the points for Science in Maynooth)

Every year since 1995, in the hallowed grounds of Kilkenny City’s Fairgreen (except one year when it was in the
Waterbarrack and Ross Noble fell into the River Breagagh), an audience of several people has come to marvel at the
spectacle of approximately 22 comedians and special guests making a mockery of the beautiful game - or taking it way too seriously - on a Sunday afternoon. With live PA
commentary by Karl Spain, most likely.

by Paddy Cullivan (2013 UK Musical Comedy Awards Semi-Finalist), this six-piece powerhouse are widely known as the House band on the Late Late Show. That, however, is their day job - their two albums ‘Music Is War’ and ‘Sell

Once you arrive in Kilkenny, everything is right on your doorstep. This maps shows you key festival locations and show venues. All are within an easy ten minute walk of each other, as are the majority of the city’s hotels and restaurants.
Limited parking is available on street but there are a number of public car parks throughout the city and at several festival venues. Check out www.kilkennycity.ie for full parking information.
Ireland’s just a short hop flight from the UK and Europe and it’s never been easier or quicker to get to Kilkenny once you arrive. You can fly direct into Dublin, Cork or Waterford airports or bring the car by ferry to Rosslare Europort.
Ireland’s brand new motorway network makes driving a breeze with Kilkenny now a mere 80 minutes from Dublin (Kilkenny is accessed via exit 8 from the M9). You can also catch one of the frequent trains and buses into the heart of the city from any urban centre in the country.
Check out the links below for help with planning your route and travel, as well as arranging other activities for your trip to the Marble City!
