From Africa – Slaves and gold and ivory.

From the Americas – Rum, tobacco, cotton, molasses.

From Europe – Manufactured goods.

• Enslaved Africans were transported from Africa to the West Indies.

It was common for people to perish on slave ships.

Hundreds of people were chained together by their hands and feet in dangerous conditions.
