Develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards. Achieves optimum employee levels with the least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plans. Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability of the operation. Directs and monitors department managers/supervisors to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Hires, trains, develops, and evaluates staff, taking corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Ensures compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations, consulting with the Human Resources Department as appropriate. Directs and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.). Oversees and prioritizes the facility maintenance function, which includes Initiating and coordinating major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, preventative maintenance planning, spare parts inventory, etc.). Oversees suppliers and tolling operations quality and audits. Oversees warehouse operations including off-site locations. Quality Assurance functional oversight including proper loading of outbound shipments. Oversees facilities are kept up to the company’s cleanliness standards. Oversees the development and implementation of all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives including but not limited to: CSE, LOTO, SARA reporting, PPE training, All Permits to operate, IH program, SDS program, HAZMAT Assessments, on-boarding of new chemicals, Annual EHS training, SPCC, RMP, AST’s, PIV inspections, Fire prevention, etc. ISO 9001 Quality Management program o Management Representative for Department o Internal Auditor o Ensure understanding of the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives o Ensure all department processes, procedures and forms are current and all staff have been trained on them o Ensure all department staff understand the quality program and objectives o Lead investigations which involves department o Assess risk and opportunity within department Oversees the transportation function including HAZMAT sign-off. Oversees the Corrective and Preventative Action Program. Oversees Contractor approval, training and management. Oversight of Insurance Underwriter Visits / Auditing / Corrective Actions Supports new product introduction including tolling products. Promotes a positive work environment. BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or business administration preferred. 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a process-oriented operation and/or related industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer. Strong cross-functional manager who can foster teamwork and drive change throughout the organization. High-energy, self-motivated personality driven to succeed. Problem solver. Creative thinker. Influential collaborator. Microsoft Office experience required. Ability to learn new production and financial software. Must possess a private driver’s license. Will undergo drug screening and a reference or security check.
