The second annual Horse & Tack Auction for KLFS at the Lindsay

Livestock Exchange raised $2,000. The horse was donated by the

Exchange and was sold five times. Our thanks to Carson & Sue Campbell and Doug Lowes and Kevin Avery owners of

the Exchange.

Thanks to the support of management, staff and customers of Loblaws and Valu-Mart, the Holiday Food Drive was very successful.

These donations will be a tremendous help with our distribution to member agencies in January.

After a courageous battle, Art Truax entered into rest in December 2011. He will be sadly missed by Kawartha Lakes Food Source. Art was the driving force behind the Emergency Medical Services Golf

The students of Jack Callaghan Public School held a “Hot Chocolate for Two” this year and some of the profits were shared with KLFS as an appreciation for being a member agency.

Farmers’ Mutual Insurance Company made a contribution to KLFS in lieu of sending Christmas Cards.

Mayor Ric McGee raised $160.00 through the Mayor’s Charity Parking Spot initiative.

Wildcat Basketball team at I.E. Weldon Secondary School supported KLFS with a $1500 donation.

The Festive Fashion Collection & Tea, organized by Women’s Resources to benefit KLFS raised over $980.00.

Staff & students of I.E. Weldon Secondary School held their annual 12 Days of Christmas and an amazing 1,420 non-perishable food items was collected to benefit KLFS.
