THE SPIRIT FRUIT KINDNESS

Kindness is to do good things, even if they are costly, for other people

with no thought of reward or advantage.

Some observations:

Kindness requires this attitude :“The other

person is as important as I am. I will treat him

with dignity and respect. I will help him

and look out for his interests as best I

can.”

Kindness is something that EVERYONE is capable of doing!

The less deserving one is to receive kindness the more like God you

are to give it.

The more the receiver of kindness needs it the greater the joy is for the giver of it.

1. We are to be kind to others in the WORDS

that we use.

Proverbs 15:4 says, “Kind words bring life, but cruel words crush

the spirit.”

And whatever you do, don’t BE one of those people who everyone dreads being around

because of your sharp tongue.

“The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil

among the parts of the body. It corrupts the

whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set

on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds,

reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tame and have been

tamed by man, but no man can tame the

tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly

poison.” (James 3:6-8)

2. We are to be kind to others in the DEEDS

that we do.

“When you have done it to one of the least of these, you

have done it to Me.”

“As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly

loved, clothe yourselves with compassion and

kindness.” (Col. 3:12)

Turtles and kindness

“People are like terrapins. Never try to

force a fellow into anything. Just warm him up with a little

human kindness, and more’n likely he’ll come

your way.”

3. The biggest impact of kindness is when someone receives it

that DEFINITELY doesn’t deserve it.

4. We need to start today by being kind to all those around us.

5. How? -Humble yourself.

-Understand all people have faults.

-Forgive.

-See those who need kindness.

Where would Paul be without Barnabas

being kind to him when the other disciples

didn’t want to?
