Dear Ladies of Alpha Gamma Delta, Rain! It happened recently in Arlington for the first time since May, I think. There are people who deliberately move to the desert! (My own sister included) I can’t imagine not seeing green trees and rolling hills of grass and wild flowers in due seasons. We don’t have to imagine North Texas as desert because we nearly made it this summer. I hope you all were able to escape the heat through travel or at least reading some good books in the air conditioning. It is time to get together for our 2011-2012 year of meetings and eatings. We do enjoy lively conversation and good food at the same time. I look forward to seeing all the past members again and hope for some new members to join us. This newsletter will explain the events as planned so that you can participate whether at our homes or at local restaurants. We contribute to some local charitable organizations and of course the national required donations and/or fees, but keep our yearly dues at a low cost to members. We even choose a current popular book to read and discuss at a meeting in the winter when weather is best for staying inside. Please contact me or any of the officers listed using our new club email address: [email protected] . We can help with questions, directions, or car pool opportunities to our Sep- tember salad supper. Hope to see you there. On August 11, 2011, Alpha Gamma Delta announced the launch of a re-designed website, visual identity and brand message: LIVE WITH PURPOSE "Alpha Gamma Delta is a relevant, values-based organization that encourages sisters to be there for one another, take care of themselves and their

communities and stand for something greater than themselves," said Stephannie Sack Bailey, Executive Director. "Live with Purpose accurately reflects these ideals and we are excited to introduce the new brand message and web-site to the fraternal community." Live with Purpose, was inspired by the Alpha Gamma Delta Purpose, the ideals that guide Alpha Gamma Delta sisters throughout their lives. It is reflective of the strong, progressive organization while staying true to the Fraternity's ideals and traditions. Additionally, Live with Purpose is universal; there is no defined way in which a member can effectively Live with Purpose. It is up to the member to absorb the 10 lines, decide for herself what each line means to her and determine her own plan to incorporate those values into her life. Watch a short video about the brand message and visual identity at www.alphagammadelta.org/alphagams/blog. A new feature has been introduced—Let's Talk—that demonstrates how members and friends of Alpha Gamma Deltas are living with Purpose. In addition, there is a public section of the website—Alpha Gams—that is intended for members of Alpha Gamma Delta. By clicking on "Alpha Gams," sisters can read the latest news and information about the Fraternity and its members, connect with sisters in their area, read the blog and share ideas.
