THE SUITE LIFE
The hotel boom in South Florida means one thing
for visitors and locals: plenty of options.
MIA CONNECTIONS SPRING 2015
Many of us hope for the celebrity treatment when traveling and vacationing. Why have one swimming pool when you can have four to choose from? Why step foot outside of your ho-tel, when you can bowl and skate without leaving the premises? The best part is oftentimes you won't even need the celebrity budget if you're vacationing in South Florida.
The beach, nightlife, shopping and dining in Miami simply lend themselves to luxury. And staying and playing here means one thing: finding accommodations that suit your needs. But with a whole new crop of experiences springing up all around the city and a constant flux of hotels opening their doors, the choice of whether to stay at a boutique or big hotel chain really is yours. Here, then, are some of Miami's biggest contenders for your attention.

K A S K A D E S S U I T E SBigger isn’t always better, and Kaskades Suites is proof. With only 25 suites, the
rooms each have stand-out features (hello, hands-free toilets and custom outdoor
Japanese soaking tubs) that you’ll usually only find in a hotel’s most expensive
suites. The rooms are so comfortable and cozy that you won’t want to leave—but
everything in South Beach is walking distance, so you’ll feel obliged to explore. One
of Miami’s best bars is at the adjacent Gale South Beach (Regent Cocktail Club),
where you’ll get to experience speakeasy-style cocktails with a jazzy ambience. If
you’re a night owl—or even a morning person—room service is available here from
7 a.m.–11 p.m. And if you’re particularly tech savvy—or lazy—you can use the mobile
application to select your room, check in and enter the accommodations with the use
of a compatible Apple device. Beach bums can rest assured that they’re covered, too:
Two reserved beach chairs are yours at the neighboring Shelborne Beach Club.
