Fall 2017
“CHANGING TIMES”
Our Fall meeting was held Sept 20-22, 2017.
As we close out the year with a great meeting at the
Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando. Fl. I
would like to thank all of the Speakers, Vendors, Volun-
teers, Board Members and ANFP Members for attending
our Spring and Fall Workshops. Without your support we
couldn’t do this. As President of the Fl. Chapter I look
forward to continue to grow our attendance back at our
meetings, by communicating with various Healthcare
Companies and Executive Directors to help allocate
funds so our CDM’s can attend.
I’m looking forward to working with our Pres.-Elect 2017 Executive Board
Darrell Brock CDM,CFPP. So we can together as a Team achieve great success with our Workshops.
This year we learned a lot about our industry from all of our speakers. We hope our fellow CDM’s
shared this with their Staff and Companies they work for. As President I look forward to growing and
working together with the Executive Team starting now!! Until next meeting, I say Thanks!!!. Mario

From the Desk of the President-Elect
As we now look forward to rejuvenating ourselves. I look forward to working
with everyone, hearing any ideas or suggestions on how we can elevate our
organization to new levels. I have only three goals, I would like to focus on. 1]
Improving the number of members attending our workshops.
2] To work on getting our districts to attend the
state workshops. 3] Better communications be-
tween not only the State Executives but the dis-
trict executive board as well. Thank you again
for allowing me the pleasure of serving as your President-Elect/
program chair. Lets make this a fun and knowledgeable journey.
Respectfully, President-Elect Darrell E. Brock

From the Ink well of the Incoming Secretary’s Desk
My name is Haruna Nail, Currently, I work for Opis at the Indian River Center
in West Melbourne. I transferred to Florida from Virginia in the summer
2015. In Virginia, I had the pleasure of briefly serving as Secretary/
Treasurer, Education chair and was next in line for President Elect. I have
worked in food service with elderly populations for the last eleven years. My
desire is to bring the compassion I have with my customers, and enthusiasm
leading my team members to our ANFP Florida Chapter. I hope to share my
experiences while also learning and growing from my fellow professionals. I
look forward to joining the leaders of our Florida Chapter.

A few words from the out going Secretary
After the devastating effects of Hurricane Irma, our chapter was still
able to hold our Fall Workshop in Orlando, Florida. Our meeting was held
at the lovely Florida Hotel and Conference center.
We had over 60 members in attendance. Many were not able to attend
as they were still in the process of recovering from the hurricane.
We are proud to announce our new Executive Board for the 2017-2019
term: Past President Norma Reynolds, President Mario McTier, President –
Elect Darrell Brock, Secretary new comer Haruna Nail, Treasurer Dorinda
Carwell, and Co-Treasurer/Webmaster Jeannie McGovern.
We are pleased to welcome 83 new members and 20 students this
past year. We are disappointed to report the loss of over 300 members due
to replacement on the inactive status. We will continue to reach out to these members to show
support with any needs.
Its been an experience as always serving this wonderful chapter. I will continue to volunteer as
Co-Treasurer and Webmaster.
Jeannie McGovern CDM,CFPP
