The Talent Show Role-play
Narrator 1: Harmony School was the biggest school in Bridge town.
(Mr. West talks to the teachers.)
Mr. West: Let’s have a talent show. We need to find students who can sing, dance, or play music. Narrator 1: Soon, all the students knew about the Harmony School Talent Show.
Mr. West: The Harmony School Talent Show starts tomorrow.
Narrator 2: Alex and the A-Stars were a band. Alex: Let’s try and win the talent show!
(Alex and the A-Stars practice their songs.)
Narrator 1: Alex and the A-Stars practiced their songs all day.
Narrator 2: Ziggy and the Zigzags were dancers.
Ziggy: We can win the talent show!
(Ziggy and the Zigzags practice their dancing.)

Narrator 1: Ziggy and the Zigzags practiced their dancing all day.
(The students get ready for the talent show.)
Narrator 2: The first day of the talent show was really exciting. Many students could sing, dance, or play music. All the students enjoyed watching the talent show.
Narrator 1: The A-Stars and the Zigzags both did well on the first day. All the students loved them!
(Alex speaks to the A-Stars.)
Alex: We’re coming back tomorrow!
(Ziggy speaks to the Zigzags.)
Ziggy: We’re coming back tomorrow!
Narrator 2: The Zigzags practiced a new dance for the last day of the talent show.
Alex: The Zigzags’s dancing is great! But we don’t want them to win. We must work hard on our singing.
Narrator 1: The A-Stars practiced a new song for the last day of the talent show.
Ziggy: The A-Stars’s singing is great! But we don’t want them to win. We must work hard on our dancing.
Narrator 2: In the morning, Alex saw Ziggy with his friends. Alex: Hello, Ziggy. Your dancing is great, but all the students love my band’s music more.
Narrator 1: That afternoon, Ziggy saw Alex at school.

Ziggy: Hello, Alex. Your music is great, but all the students love the Zigzags’s dancing more.
Narrator 2: It was the last day of the talent show. The A-Stars played their new song and all the students loved it. Then, the Zigzags danced.
(Mr. West has an envelope. The winner’s name is inside.)
Narrator 1: Mr. West was ready to say the names of the winning students. All the students were excited.
(Mr. West opens the envelope.)
Mr. West: The Zigzags!
Narrator 2: All the students were happy.
Alex and The A-Stars: Well done, Zigzags!
