The Program

2. A GUARANTEED Paid Teaching Job In Costa Rica After TEFL Training

- Once you have completed the TEFL training with us you will be assisted by our training team in gaining employment. All jobs are guaranteed for Native English speakers with a Bachelor’s degree*

THE 4 WEEKS TEFL TRAINING &

CERTIFICATION IN COSTA RICA

Start with 4 weeks face-to-face teacher training on the paradise Manuel Antonio beach, surrounded by around 5 or 15 other trainees; and end with a guaranteed paid teaching job, which could be anywhere in Costa Rica.

You are trained in all the essential techniques and theories needed to become an effective teacher, as well as having teaching practice with real students to boost your confidence. After you have completed the TEFL course you will receive a TEFL qualification which means you can teach English, and get paid, anywhere in the world.




The GUARANTEED Paid Teaching Job

After the training period, you are given all the tools necessary to find the perfect teaching job for you! Jobs are normally secured 0-30 days after the training period ends, and many students have a job ready for them right after training.

Types of JobsMost teaching jobs in Costa Rica are in private language centers. This means you will be teaching private students. Class sizes and ages vary but are relatively small in number of around 6 - 15 students. You will normally work five days per week with two days off, but this may not be Saturday and Sunday as those are peak times for classes.

One day you might teach a single university student in the morning for two hours, a class of eight 10 year olds at 3 o’clock, and then a class of six company employees at their offices in the evening. It really will vary according to your employer.

The common minimum contract is for 6 months. Teaching hours are generally 18 - 25 per week and tis can vary from week to week.




Salary vs Living Costs

The average salary for teaching jobs in Costa Rica is between 450 - 800 USD per month.

Living costs are generally the same so this is not a country where you can expect to save much unless you work a lot of hours. An average meal cost when eating out is around 7-10 USD.




Accommodation is not provided during the training period but you do get assistance finding accommodation. We have some options available for you for around 795- 815 USD per person. You are also free to book your own accommodation, with AirBnB and Agoda being common places for trainees searching for well priced accommodation.

Most employers will assist you in finding accommodation near to the place of work. Accommodation is normally not included when offered a teaching job in Costa Rica, but it is not too expensive at around 400 - 650 USD per month for a single room apartment. You can save money if you opt to live with other teachers, which is also very common!.

It’s easy to make friends when you study around people of the same mindset and who have arrived in the same circumstances. Your fellow trainees can become a great support while you are teaching English in Costa Rica, and the training period is always a special one which you will remember for the rest of your life.

These new friends become a great strength to you through your time in the country, even after you finish your training.

Living in Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a tourist hotspot because of the exotic flora and fauna on offer, the hot weather, and the laid back lifestyle. A few years ago they began a new policy of not having a military - saving money to employ more teachers. Education is an important feature in Costa Rica and English teachers certainly have a lot to offer the Costa Ricans!

Costa Rica is known for its beautiful beaches and surfing scene, as well as the exuberance of natural wildlife and rainforests. Costa Rica is also a paradise for divers, as there is an immense biodiversity along the coastline. Many people in Costa Rica want to speak English but you will find the level of English quite poor in general. This means you will really need to learn at least “get by Spanish” in order to live and work.

Those who are not native English speaking or do not hold a bachelor’s degree can still do the course and receive job

seeking assistance. They also can find work but need to be flexible as to salary choices and location choices.

Application Process

�You then need to have a Skype interview with us before you can book onto the program.

�If you pass the interview and we accept you, then you need to email us the booking form and make the deposit payment to confirm your place!

�Once your place is secure, we then send your details to our TEFL training team in the host country.

�From there you are sent more information about how to prepare for this experience in terms of airports to fly to, visas to apply for and even luggage to pack!
