Page 7: The Together Plan concept Its only part of the process

Know the Market• Use all the tools you have available to

• Decide who to invite to be chartered organizations

Page 8: The Together Plan concept Its only part of the process

Build the Team• Now that you know how many units, it's time to

BUILD THE TEAM• You need a team for each potential new unit

• They need to be recruited and trained before your event

• Team:

New-Unit Organizer

New-Unit Commissioner

Professional Scouter to guide the volunteers

Phase Two: Make the Call•Usually done by the team making the call on the

Institutional Head

•But SOMETIMES you have several prospects that have something in common:Community Organization like a Rotary ClubA particular faith like MethodistA particular school system or home-school associationAll the same type unit

•When that happens the Together Plan is a GREAT option

From the FieldRodney Carpenter, SE Old North State Council

"The key to a successful “Together Plan” is pre-planning. Specifically it is well worth the time and effort to recruit and train a new unit organizer and a new unit commissioner at least 6 months prior to the event. Doing so will help ensure a highersuccess rate with new unit commitments.”

Other tips from Rodney:•Invitation letter followed by two telephone contacts•Invite some current chartered organizations:

review of role of organization helps strengthen their unittheir experience encourages others

•It doesn't have to be big to be successful

Page 14: The Together Plan concept Its only part of the process

Planting Successful Units• Employ the UPG--Pillars 1 and 2

• If common denominator, use Together Plan• Faithfully follow schedule/best practices

• Immediately follow-up using UPG Pillar 4

Together Plan Success•Success of your Together Plan is not measured by how many individuals come or how many commitment cards you get.

• Success is measured by how many units you start that are positioned to provide long term service to youth
